Talked with an old Crete buddy today....he was telling me how he had to #### near beg dispatch to give him a lousy 800 mile load instead of the 250 mile load they sent him....he said that their turnover rate is the highest it has ever been...90% or more...
sees guys cleaning out trucks every time he rolls through a terminal. He has over 10 years there, no where else to go..no one will pay him what he makes per mile or give him insurance because of his wifes health issues.....i feel for him.

The insurance is the prime reason I'm staying as well. Not for me, but my wife has had 2 major gallbladder attacks in last 8 weeks, so bad she almost went to the hospital,(and this is from a woman who had our 2nd child naturally -no epidural- by accident, and didn't say a word. So if she is thinking about going to a hospital it must really be a pain issue) So she may need to have it removed soon (her dad waited too long and his burst, so he had to spend a while in hospital getting cleaned out). So I have put my move plans on hold for now, and just bite my tongue.

I did see something new on Cretes website when I was checking my paycheck this morning. There was a link to the changes in our safety point system.(that didn't work...imagine that)... Maybe they'll fix it soon.

Speaking of my paycheck, I guess I didn't get that late Friday delivery's paperwork scanned in on time after all. It was just after midnite, and it isn't on today's check. Which is o.k., this weeks miles have sorta sucked, the carryover will help make it an acceptable miles week. So instead of a 3400 mile week last week, and 2000 by Thursday this week, it's 2730 last week, and 2660 by Thursday this week. Either way just under 5400 by the 12th of the month, can't complain...not ET-like miles, but it could be worse.

This place is nutz for planning. Last load, I delivered to Gen Mills in Carlisle, IA. A place we pull loads right back out of. Did I get a load out of there...heck no. They shipped in empty drivers to pu, and sent me 110 mi to pu a heavy dog food load. Which worked out better for me, it delivers in Allentown, PA Thursday morning. A 1222 mile 2.5 day run. Just doesn't help the ole profit sharing balance w/wasted deadhead miles like that!

Guess what guys, no company in any state can deny any employee access to their group health plan, if they have one. If you can prove that you were denied coverage, while the other employees have it, you have a massive lawsuit and a huge paycheck waiting for you.

Start with the state Insurance Commissioner.

The company isn't doing the denying. It's the insurance company.

I e-mailed him a while back but haven't heard back, but didn't get an error so the e-mail is still valid.

it isn't so much deny or not, it's the waiting period that causes me to pause.

Nope. Not on a group policy. NO employee can be declined. On an employer sponsored group plan, it is an ENROLLMENT for the employee, not an application.
