2:43 AM June third, 2012. Orlando, FL, U.S.A, North America, Planet Earth, Space.
4-wheelers, this is why you use headlights.

Why is my truck not in this image? What truck? It burned to the ground, with the minivan that cause it.
Minivan with no lights came off the ramp, she caught my front bumper. Gas tank busted and my glow plugs lit it up. FedEx got the left rear of my trailer, Averitt stopped, white Freightliner plowed his trailer. The bear got what was left of the minivan.
No deaths, but the 4-wheeler suffered minor burns from the flame. I'm fine, just a bit shocked, and my wrist is in a cast. It was all so sudden... The other drivers are O.K, I'm sharing a hotel room with them until it's clear whats happening. FedEx driver DID in fact take a hit from when he got my trailer, bruises across waist.
No further info I'm willing to share.
BUT: IS IT NOT SO HARD TO CHECK YOUR LIGHTS ARE ON?
"Officer, I did not know they were off!"
    Bull.
"That big rig didn't get over!"
    I couldn't see you.
    "Fine him, not me!"
Lady, it's clear your at fault. Traffic cams :D
    "B#### ITS NOT MY FAULT!"
How not to stay out of cuffs....

Wow, man...glad no one was hurt.

I've noticed this problem with drivers using headlights on modern cars, trucks, and SUVs. The modern electronic dashes make it look like (psychologically, anyway) that the headlights are on. In the old days, you didn't have this. If your dash lights weren't on, your headlights aren't. That, along with DRLs, combine to cause problems, particularly in rain and snow during daylight hours. People just don't recognize that they need to turn their lights on.

Again...glad no one was hurt. Keep us posted.

I just wish I could take picture of the damage more, but the trooper stopped me. Said I couldn't. I don't see why it would bother him, this will be settled in court.
    As 48 requested.
I was able to get Star(Me kitty) after the fire was out. She fled and hid in trailer frame. 3 hours ago I was able to go look at my truck to see if I could get anything from it. Nothing big, just my phone.

    I'm confused.......?

The news report that 12345 posted doesn't sound nothing like what you are describing. Am I missing something?
