My mystery load turned out to be 40,000 lbs of large plastic containers filled with smaller plastic containers. The trailer is full but I'm suprised even a trailer full of plastic could weigh that much.

When I checked my mileage 2 times on the climb up to Ely it was only 5.5. Currently at Mountain Home, ID, mileage has climbed up to 6.8, MUCH BETTER. My load was scheduled for a Friday delivery @ 0700, I called the consignee and they said they would take it any time tomorrow (Thursday) before 4:00pm. I should have it there around noon. Anyone know to expect for a load out of central Washington?

Get a hold of Lewiston, or the WLMart out of Grandview as a surge driver....Might have to dead head a few miles. To get a load out, depending where you are dropping.

Where are you getting your mpg from? A gauge in the dash? Or calculator and actual fueling.

My Volvo seemed to do better on T/A and Petro fuel. IMO it was the additive package in their fuel.

I'm going by the QualCom. Measures every drop of fuel that leave the tanks. I noticed that when I had a company Volvo that the mileage on the Volvo trip computer was about 10% higher than the QualCom, I'm guessing it's because the Volvo TC was only measuring what went though the engine (thereby missing regen fuel) while the QC measures EVERYTHING.

I ended up getting 7.0 for the trip from Henderson, NV to Yakima, WA grossing 73,500. I'm happy considering the weight and route.
We'll see how it does next trip, 45,000 lbs (in the box) going from 35 miles SE of Yakima to Albuquerque.

The quoted post is from 3 months/30,000 miles ago. Today running the exact same route at about the same weight I got 6.0 MPG to Ely and 7.7 by Caldwell, ID.
