So I am about to start driving school and I am very nervous about backing I have driven all sorts of vehicles thanks to the army but there is just get in and go. No testingor anything . Is. Backing really that hard or is it one of those things when you have an Ah-Ha moment and it just clicks. Don't know why I'm so nervous I guess just want to fail or be one of those knuckleheads we all laugh at as the try to back in 50 times.
Thanks Gents
Extremely nervous about backing

For me it was hard but like they say it takes practice & patience. Don't get frustrated cause you don't get it right off the rip. They will have you doing all kinds of maneuvers when backing. The way I got through it was I just kept telling my self there's nothing to it but to do it. I hope this will help ya. Good luck

Practice practice and practice. When you think you have it practice some more. Don't be afraid to get laughed at. It rarely happens. Most professionals will get out and help if needed. I help almost everyday. I also receive help almost everyday. Take your time and remember GOAL

Well its like riding bicycle. It takes time to learn but you dont forget it. Theres times when I see a earlier I dont want to back in I get like i cant do it, just G.O.A.L. and take your time. I saw one guy with a sleep cab and 53 back into a place I hate backing a 40 foot single axel day cab tractor into. Granted it took him A WHILE to get in there but he kept getting out to look, got some spotters. The more you do it the better you get

Dont worry. Even if you do struggle, it will eventually click in. I still use several pullups when dockig a trailer. I also get out several times to see where I am at. I don't care if people laugh at me. I rather get it done without hitting anything. I am a military vet as well, and we pretty much winged it as well when it came to vehicles. Did convoys in Iraq, and now drive locally to spend more time at home. You an 88M?

You served in the Army and you are scared of backing a truck ? You can do this, it just takes practice. That is what school is for. Do not get flustered, practice all you can. You will not fail, and we all get laughed at from time to time. No big deal, just stay cool , and it will come to you, I guarantee. We all had to learn.
Thanks for your service to our Country. -

I had never driven anything with a trailer behind it when I started school. If you have good instructors at the school, they will help you with little cues and things to watch for. Once you get out on the road, practice at truckstops and anywhere else you have the opportunity. I have been at this for 15 months now. I am no expert by any means, but it is getting easier. Don't overthink it, and don't get angry when it won't go where you want it to on the first few tries. Oh yeah, Get Out And Look!!!!!
Thank you for your service. -
Thanks for your service. And like the others said PRACTICE all the time. And get out and look. If people would rather laugh at ya than help your better off with out there help. Good luck
