Used to be able to purchase those duck bill drains at dealers, they were used on the old air cleaners also. Were around 2.00 each in a bag of 10

1000 lbs of water is roughly 120 gallons, which equals nearly 16 cubic feet of water, which would equal about 1/4 inch of water spread evenly on the floor of a 53' X 102" trailer, provided the floor is flat and not grooved. Just sayin'.

One of those times I wish I had a camera phone--there is a rubber plug that just fits in the holes--my Dane has them along with all of my friends--they just drop in--Ill find out where they come from if not Dane directly--and post more info ASAP--

When I hauled butter and ice cream I used engine valves to cover the drain holes. What you are loosing is some mostiure from the product. Not much you can do about that. The refer pulls it out

I was told if you don't have the plugs, use paper towels....anything to plug the holes.

Ok still haven't gone out--but will get info sometime Wed--when I go back to truck--But an old quick tip for frozen loads--if you feel the holes are a problem--soak some old newspaper and stuff it inside--it will freeze(kinda like frozen paper mache) and seal pretty well--and can just be pushed thru-top or bottom-or blasted out with pressure washer when u wash out...

Ok like I said don't have a camera phone but found them on line--here's the link

Last thing i expected them to be--I have 4 they work great--the ones shown here are not an exact replica of the ones we use--those have a little flatter end--but you get the point--And I am as surprised as y'all as to what they really are--but couple of friends of mine from rural Pa turned meon to them couple of years back and I never bothered to ask where they got them--just figured they came from one of the trailer suppliers--LOL
    Hope this helps

Plastic bags, folded up and stuffed in from the bottom, will work in a pinch.

I would be concerned with old dirty water holding all kinds of bacteria and filth. They put those holes there for a reason...

you should only need plugs for paper loads in a reefer. those holes are there for a reason.(and not what you all are thinking)Shift+R improves the quality of this image. Shift+A improves the quality of all images on this page.
