I believe anti-seizure medications will also get you DQ'd.

No, not if you do not tell them. If you do, then be sure you have a doctor's note ready to give them stating you are safe to operate the vehicle. I do not condone anyone lying; however, they only test the big 5. Including the companies that test hair follicles.

You can drive as a diabetic, you just can't be on insulin injection.

Actually you can as a type I diabetic with an established history of keeping your sugar/A1C controlled, doctors letter and go through the waiver program. Then you have to find a company that will give you a chance.

Type one or two driver, type one you are born with it, type two your pancresas start to shut down and need something to boost them to produce insulin. And yes an A1C is needed, and when they check your urine you can't have blood, protein, or sugar in the test. But you can be on pills and drive if you meet the requirements on the physical. And as far as a company that will give you a chance, well they can't discriminate because you have diabetes and you pass the physical requirements of dot. We have rights too. LOL

Does anyone know (for a fact) if prescribed Ambien would disqualify me for a medical card renewal? Should I even mention it to the examiner?

A lot of the big companies seem to kick about anti-depressants. Or require you to get a release from your doctor. My current company could care less though and was a non-issue.

    Not only the companies.

A friend was inspected and they found his on the truck and the Inspector advised him, that he could be placed out of service and needed the doctor certificate.

So once again...does anyone know for sure? I appreciated your responses but I'd like to know for sure....not speculation.
