I got screwed out of earned income by Auto Truck Transport (Joplin, MO) and the nations worst carrier, Knight Transportation (Phoenix, AZ).

Both companies hosed me out of approximately $950. If they cheat you our of more than $1,000, it's a felony. Got it?

I also worked for Heartland Express. They cheat all their drivers with no apology. They believe they can get the drivers to deliver city loads for FREE!!!! They con you into delivering a local load by telling you about another load that has miles. But they don't tell you they WILL NOT PAY YOU TO DELIVER CITY LOADS!!! The driver finds out in a week or two when they see their paystub: $0.00 paid.

Several lawsuits in several states are now filed against Heartland Express. More are coming, I PROMISE!!!

I don't see anything the company did wrong in the OP. Going up to a dispatcher and throwing a hissy fit is the last thing you want to do. Of course you're going to get fired for doing that.

For the stolen truck threat: I tend to think there's either more to the story you aren't telling, or you weren't told the truth.

if you dont end up getting fired from starting probs with a dispatcher, you will most definetly get the bottom of the barrell miles. Pick you battles

when they use randy's routing system (zip to zip) Which they all do, and you deliver a load in town you will not get paid unless YOU request it
specifically from your DM. Cover you self before delivering your load

If the industry needs to look into anything it is these leases that appear to be the equivelent of predatory lending. My question to the poster is what was the reason for the first truck to be "repossesed" by the bank? That shouldnt happen unless you were missing payments. And what was the reason for the company putting you into a different truck? I could argue that you are correct in saying you paid for a truck and should get the vehicle but it sounds like you broke the contract by not making payments. At least from the word "repossesed". If the company just put you into a different truck and said that you would now be making payments on the new truck then that is something that you would want in writing so that you can not be burned by the company after satisfying the terms of the lease.

If any driver is planning on leasing you really need to read all of the terms of the lease and fully understand what you are getting into. To me this area of the industry is the most controversial and could almost be considered criminal since they take advantage of drivers and sell them on the pipe dream of being a successful O/O. If you spend $200-300 on a lawyer to explain the contract you will save yourself thousands in financial losses, reduce stress and protect your credit rating.

Slaves don't get pay, or hotel rooms, or even a truck lol. Sounds like he screwed himself if he was dumb enough not to have his own truck after 25 years. Life is what you make of it.

I am actually leased onto with a company who has given me Christmas money and made my truck payment while Im down with a broken foot.I have driven for the crappy companies and am very fortunate to land there. There are some companies who dont use DAC and might have a better chance at one of those.I do believe there was a few complaints about Rush in one of the forums.I read what drivers was saying before I called a company

Personally, I think the Lease/Fleece is the worst thing a driver can do in his or her career. Sure, some make it work, but we've all seen and heard the stories of the many that haven't. My personal POV is that if you can't go to a truck dealer and finance and purchase your own rig outright, and then lease your purchased truck on to a company, then you should just stay a company driver and forget about being an owner operator.
