I am probably posting this in the wrong section, but I figured it would be informative for all of you passing through Montana. This site is run by the MTDOT and reports current road conditions in Montana November through April. It is updated twice a day or if there are major changes to the weather/roads. Note the camera icons that show a live webcam feed for the major mountain passes. I keep this site bookmarked at home and on my mobile when I am out and about. I am sure most/all northwestern states have a counterpart of this.

    Godspeed and safe travels!

Could have used this the other night going through Montana and over Powder River in Wyoming. Snow packed and icy roads. Five and half hours to go 88 miles. Sheesh!

That's funny man... I originally just had typed "bomb" but after reading it back I figured I probably just though out a flag and now next time I go to the airport I'm going to get the glove!

Heres the Wyoming site. The top left link is very handy to get a snapshot of road conditions for the various areas. I check the SE Wyoming district throughout my shift...road conditions around here can change very rapidly. I also signed up to get email and text message alerts for road closings.

Mustang, the link you gave gets a "404 not found" message because the word "THIS" from your next sentence is included in the link url. Thanks for the link tho, very helpful. I saved state hwy conditions bookmarks state by state, one at a time. :biggrin_25523:
