Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

I had read that about hwy 30 a year or so ago...but they were saying it was a good alternative to 80 when it's snowing and blowing off Elk. Too bad it's under construction...they better hurry, winter time's a-commin quick.

havnt been up there in a long time

 

A very long, tedious day. Drove up and down mountains all day long in the rain and half of the way in the dark. Made it to my destination though with no problems and hopefully will get unloaded early tomorrow. 1252 miles in two days so not too shabby. Hope I get some east coast run that will take me past Thanksgiving.


Bah, just checked the weather forecast and #### is supposed to start hitting the fan tomorrow in the mountains, hoping to roll over that stuff before it gets too bad.

 

well my wife,animals,house+car are in live oak i live on the road so i can pay for things thats all i can do till i find a job that i can afford home time again

 

just remeber you are the captin of that ship it sails when you say its safe not when some dispatcher says its ok to go or all the other drivers keep going only you are looking out that windsheild and know what you feel safe doing and look out for that other guy have seen it to many times old super trucker well get out there and cause a big mess and if you had just shut down you may have still gotten there on time or just a little late but load would have gotten there i can say this because i was born and raised in snow country have run all 48 states and alaska + 7 prov of can over the last 37 yrs so be safe out there no load of freight is worth dieing or vkilling someone for

 

Sitting in Portland, OR tonight and picking up a load early in the morning heading to Tulsa. Hoping to be in Tulsa Thursday night with close to 3500 miles in 6 days. The load is scheduled to be delivered on Monday but going to try to get it knocked off Friday morning and that will give me a chance to hit the mythical 4000 mile week with a little luck.

Lots of rain today and some heavy winds. One semi was blown over.

 

Might want to call the place you are going. They might not be open Friday.

 

Yea, holidays suck. Why does Thanksgiving get 2 days when Christmas(since it's the only religous holiday celebrated by a national day off), Labor day, Memorial day, Presidents day and all the rest only get 1 day. I guess it shows where the country's priority is.
