Yeah, that stuff drives me crazy. A couple of weeks ago when I desperately needed miles, dispatch gave me a load with too much time. I asked if I could pick it up early and they qcom'd back "definitely not". I thought F that and called the customer, gave them the pickup number, and they said "no it won't be ready early" (this was a day ahead of time). I drove there anyways because it said overnight parking ok. As soon as I arrived I gave the number to the guard and he pointed to the drop lot and said "it's been ready for a long time". Variations of that have happened at least 6 times to me in the last month. It's insane.
**LOL, just dropped at Wal-Mart Grove City, OH so they give me a paper load sitting in the yard with a live unload in 24 hrs for a total of 28 miles! Since it is forced dispatch, I never know how to protest this type of thing. If they backed it up with something nice I could understand, but this is ridiculous.Last edited: Nov 25, 2012

I have some bad news for those investing for their retirement by buying a ticket for the $425m lottery. I have it on good authority(my e-mail pen pals in South Africa) that they have the winning lottery numbers to share with me. So don't waste any more money buying tickets. But with my luck, I would be the only winner, and it would take me a week to turn in the ticket, then 2 weeks for the check to clear just in time for the sun to explode on 12-21-12...so I wouldn't get to waste...I mean invest it.

Day 3 at SLC terminal. Two cancelled loads and a late start today but finally going home!
-
Well looks like I'm heading to orientation tomorrow at the Marietta , GA terminal
Ralph4159 Thanks this. -
Slim, is that for Crete or Shaffer?

I'm on my second short load in a row....less than 600 miles in two days. Hoping things will improve if I ever escape Dollar General in Bessemer tomorrow.
Good news, though....my bunk heat failed last night (shades of summer with the ProStar! Horrors!). So, when I got parked here a bit ago, I went into the cubbie just above the ParkSmart unit. Not only did tapping on the relays seem to fix the problem (at least temporarily), but I found my digital camera and it's battery charger that I thought I had lost forever. It's the only place I failed to look.
Go figure.....scottied67 Thanks this. -
I have had some better luck lately...my last 4 loads:
Naugatuck, CT to Carthage, MO (1,388 mi.)
Carthage , MO to Ankeny, IA (344)
Oakland, IA to Stockton, CA (T-called in Omaha for 144) Would have been 1,776 if I went all the way.
Council Bluffs, IA to Riverside, CA (1,532)
Sitting in Riverside right now waiting to unload. -
Just got a preplan to get me back east....
Colton, CA to Pottsville, PA (2,638 mi.)48Packard Thanks this.
