I leave mine on and some customers come out and turn it off, I always found that funny, but some want it on at all costs, others want it off badly enough to come out and do it themselves.

When you are parking for the night if you are able to nose in without screwing yourself in the morning this will help not offend your neighbors. This will keep the reefer facing the back of others trailers and the noise won't be so bad. Other than that you can try parking next to other reefers.

only out west on the east coast NW winds die as the sun sets rise asthe sun rises
east winds rise on the tide that is why on major storms like sandy they make landfall on the high tide

Or like has happened to my hubby a few times, parks where there is no one else parked, and a #### flatbed drops it into the slot right next to him. Really??? Can't see that it's a reefer there???

Funny. At the same time it tends to make the adjacent spaces the last ones to get taken. Easier to move out. Well, except for other reefers. They should be thankful it's just a noisy reefer and not a load of live cattle or hogs.

Reminds me of people that buy a home near a big airport then whine about the noise. Quiet in a truck stop parking lot? really?

What really got me was two weeks ago at a little t/s in Jonesboro, AR. The apu on the guy parked next to me was worse than a reefer. I was MT but almost cranked mine up on -10º continuous just to get some peace LOL

Just prey for a good luck.
You cold use bolkit doors if you have. Know these recievers and ask about the problem. Some docks allow opening from inside so leve trailor closed. 5 hrs. - that's long, most have to process you in 1 hr. so the foult is not fully yours.
You can use industrial areas in big cities - in the street.

I'll keep that in mind, didn't know the reverse was true for the east. Husband is most generally out the western direction when ever there is any wind around it seems like.

Yes and no... Most areas the wind speed is higher during the day because of pressure changes that are caused by the sun. On the other hand wind speed in mountainous areas can be higher at night because of thermo cooling as the sun goes down and things cool causing pressure changes again...
