AMEN to that. I have to do a "fasting" blood test a few times a year, and the lab doesn't open until 8:00. I'm not exactly a happy camper when that happens. . .
does coffee really help???

Like so many other things in the "medical community," apparently it all depends on the opinion of the professional that you are talking to. I have had two different doctors tell me that coffee before a "fasting" blood test would NOT make any difference. But then I have had the vampires tell me the doctors really don't know what they are talking about. I'm sure it makes a difference as to what they are testing for, but my blood tests are pretty much the same all the time. Only the opinions have been changed. . .

Coffee not only contains caffeine but also many other compounds that affect your body and coffee is very acidic which causes many unwanted things to thrive in your system that couldn't in a more alkaline body. Coffee also depletes calcium and other minerals and vitamins through all the p'ing. If you're a heavy coffee drinker it can deplete your adrenals and leave you feeling exhausted all the time.

One of the worst things you can do is to lean over your steering wheel and take a nap. By doing this, you are programming your body to think it's okay to take a nap while you are behind the wheel.

Agreed... TA isn't serving coffee... I don't know what it is but it's a far cry from coffee... tastes like bad water. Flying J?.... not much different. Love's... not impressed. Pilot?... best ###### coffee I've found in any of those four truck plazas.

I do not drink coffee on a regular basis, and I may have a caffeinated beverage once or twice a week. When I am really tired (or really cold) I will occasionally get a cup of coffee. I add a decent amount of sugar and creamer to it so that I can actually stand the taste. It will help me stay awake for an hour or two, but at a cost. I become extremely jittery, and if I have more than 16 ounces or so of it I become sick to my stomach for a day or two. I try to avoid coffee the best I can.
What I found that helps the most are sunflower seeds! Chewing on sunflower seeds can really keep me going for hours and hours. -
Beware, that powdered non-dairy creamer is poison and can make you very sick. I got in the habit of using it daily and it took a long time for me to recover after I stopped using it. It's made up of what they use to make plastics and glue, it is not food, it is chemicals that are not good for our bodies.
