Some days the cruise just shuts itself off. At first I thought I had bumped the button, but I've caught it doing it when I'm holding the other side of the wheel. It'll do it 3 or 4 times in one day...

I had those same issues with the on guard and cruise control in my Cascadia at Holland.

Celadon trucks don't have the on guard feature so it probably doesn't have anything to do with that. If our guys know what it is I'll be sure to post it.

My ProStar has had the cruise control issue from day one, & Poly doesn't use the "ON GUARD/VORAD" devices. So it's probably a flaw inherent in the electrical system.

The shutting itself off part will happen anytime, even when I'm all alone. After I realized it wasn't me hitting the button...the 1st thing I thought was a short in the connection of the smart steering wheel, but your truck is too new to have that issue already, so it must be a firmware conflict.

You'll eventually get use to the sound of the engine...when it does the delayed resume, or as I refer to it, has an A.D.D. episode, you'll notice a tone change in the engine (no turbo whine or whistle at all) and a whoaing down feeling...you will also still see the multiple arrows on the OnGuard screen (>>>>>), if you catch it doing it, you can just touch the throttle a little, and bring it out of it's A.D.D. fit, and it'll resume just like it should. After the 100th time it does it in a day, a gentle touch to the throttle turns into a firm stomp...which doesn't make it work any better btw...but it helps with the blood pressure ("you"...stomp.... "stupid" ...stomp... "piece" ....stomp... "of worthless" ....stomp... "junk" ...stomp... "work" ...stomp... "da**it" ...stomp...stomp)

I believe you are ascribing way too much intelligence to the beast. If they were that good there would not be the issues we face every day!:biggrin_2556:

I do believe you are correct.

120,000 miles is purely a symbolic figure to me...it just shows that I am averaging 10,000/month. So with the miles I ran in 50 weeks(2 weeks off for vacation) my average miles were below 2400/wk for the year...in my book, being out here over 310 days(my estimate, since my wife refuses to print out my logs to count the actual days out because -her words- "the stupid thing hates me, and is trying to drive me crazy(or crazier)" that kind of average SUCKS sewer sludge.

Well, just spent the day in the shop to have them tell me International knows about the cruise issue, but no remedies yet. Same with the stumble/sputter of idle when cold. But they did take my truck out for a 22 minute ride. Had to visit logs to clear that up. Gonna get a 34 as long as I'm here. Good night!

It took the lumpers at Meijer's in Newport, MI 4 or 5 hours to unload 60 pallets of paper towel(which means that they are already at the proper TI/HI, so it was a straight pulloff). Then Crete sends me down to Napoleon, OH to pick up going to Yuck...I mean York, PA. That'll put me over 2200/week, and probably it for the week since it delivers at 1800.

The drop lot in Napoleon is definately a place for those that know how to back. The lot I dropped in had 6" clearance on either side of the trailer...maybe. Not even enough room to wind down the landing gear. You back in up to the point you can still wind your gear to within an inch or two of touching, then back it the rest of the way in, and hope the ground isn't uneven...then dump the air and drop.
