Hi, been driving for several months now and have only used a Qualcom. I am looking into a company which uses something called People Net. Can you please tell me what differences to expect and if it will be a fairly easy transition from one to the other.
Thanks!
Qualcom vs. People Net Your thoughts please

how about go with a company that doesnt have one of them tracking things altogether the only thing those things are good for is to hang u if u get in to a wreck and to make u feel more like a number then a person imho

Because 99% of the companies out there are running some type of satellite system these days. Hell your getting hard pressed to find a company running paper logs anymore. Unfortunately, the government is going to squeeze every company to run them....even the o/o's. Eventually, you'll either run them or find a new profession.
To answer the op's question: I have run both and prefer Qualcomm. I had nothing but problems with Peoplenet. It's really user preference though. Some like Windows...others like Mac.IndigoBunting Thanks this. -
Both require a learning curve. In the end, I dont suppose itll matter because youll be using whatever system the company you work for has.
Once you get the hang of either, they both work about the same. (As theyre designed to.)

I used Qualcomm, Drivertech and Peoplenet, I think Drivertech was the best and Peoplenet is the crappiest

The last company I worked for used Peoplenet and I preferred it over some of the other systems I have used. Easiest system to use and the couple times I had to call into customer support I received great service. I wish my current company had Peoplenet...

Peoplenet is stupid simple.

The Quaalcom can also be a lifesaver or a driver who has false info, such as truck abandonment, placed on their DAC. By law, Quaalcom is required to keep the drivers' records for 6 years. The Quaalcom tracks every 5 feet of movement that your truck makes. Quaalcom proves beyond a reasonable doubt where you actually left your truck. A lawyer, your Quaalcom records and a lawsuit will net thousands in your pocket. Plus, the offending party who messed with your DAC will be fired and tossed into poverty.IndigoBunting Thanks this.

ive used both....i prefer the qualcom...bottom line is if you can operate a qualcom....pplnet is not much harder or different....slight learning curve

We run PeopleNet and it's a piece of cake and I feel very driver friendly when it comes to ease of use. To each his own I guess, lol.
