Yes that was a poor choice. I wonder if he missed the Flying J and was looking to turn back and get back there. Often times it is better to try to go all the way around the block or maybe turn into a business on the left side of the street so you're set up for a right turn out onto the road in the direction you want to go. This is where a GPS can help too because you can stretch the map screen out and see if there is a road or two that will get you back going in the right direction without affecting traffic.

U turn crash is 100% preventable with his company even if there were no tickets issued in my book. You only do things when you know you can get away with it, if no one saw it, it didn't happen lol.

nothing wrong with making uturns, thats why you learn them on your driving test

unless there is a sign that says, NO UTURNS, it is perfectly legal to make uturns

now, when and how is a different issue

if you are going to make a uturn, it is your job to check, check and triple check

we just were discussing a truck running into a car making a uturn and everyone was against the truck driver

That was a day cab so it was a local. But boys and girls, that is why you never ever make a U turn.

the flying j is 10 blocks north from where this accident happened, it's wide open space, but at 630 in the morning traffic gets heavy,

they MAY not get a ticket since they were both at fault and both have damaged vehicles.

i hit a truck on a ninja bike once. just bought the thing and just got it running. took it for a test ride too work one morning.

truck pulled off to the right and immediately did his uturn. never stopped. or waited for me to pass.

the dude had no idea till he completed his uturn and see me standing there in his mirror. with the bike laying on the ground.
