To anyone considering Alliance for the first time:
The best advice I can give you is be careful who you take advice from.
Think of it this way: Why would you ask Danica Patrick how to win the Sprint Cup? She's never won one!
A successful person doesn't listen to negativity. A person who failed and/or quit can only teach you how to fail and/or quit.
Find the fattest hog you can and ask them where the trough is. Find the successful Alliance drivers and pick their brains.
I have never talked to a successful Alliance driver who said you have to be married to the truck.
I'm Alliance. I get home more often than company drivers. I'm home once a month for 3 or 4 days, plus I live off of I-30, so I get to run by the house every-so-often. I am still making money because I don't screw around out there. I run, and I run hard so I can go home to see my kids and still bring home more bacon than I was on the company side.
Alliance gives you more freedoms, as well. I no longer go to that living hell known as New York City. Why? Because I am a business owner, and it is not in my best interest for business to go through all the hassle...
The point is this: an Alliance driver IS a business owner, an entrepreneur. You need to learn to think like one.
Step #1, make a decision. Do you want more money, options, and opportunity, or not?
Step #2, ask ONLY the successful for advice. The quickest path to success is in the footprints of the successful.
Step #3, make up your mind to be successful no matter what. Make goals, and work steadily toward those goals.
"Success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile goal."
"A goal is a dream (vision) with a deadline."
And those recruiters... Well, what do you think the well-meaning company staff that try to warn you about Alliance and urge you to stay company are?
And also, aren't we are all Stevens drivers?
It doesn't matter what "side" you're on.
If you like Alliance, cool. If you don't, cool. Stop interfering with ambition.
What's the worst that can happen? Someone gets in, doesn't like it, they can go back to the company fleet.Last edited: Jan 26, 2013

At 6 months out? Think so? I only just earned my jacket...
But this isn't my first business venture...
Nah, I could care less if they never sign another Alliance driver. Its just that I have benefited much from an entrepreneur mindset, and I only wish to pass it on... -
I got a 2013 T700 with 105k on the ticker. Should be all broken in now and ready to get some great MPGs. I need to move my stuff over in the morning (I wonder why I'm awake since 3) and still need to do the business class on Monday am, then if the truck is ready I'm out of here. Gotta make some money for momma.

Good luck and happy travels, Fozzie.

Must be a problem with the phone system... I was on hold less than 5 minutes... I was told I need to call back after 8, but 5 minutes? Has to be a new record.
TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Remember our motto: 30 minute hold minimum!TRKRSHONEY and KMac Thank this. -
