That's my home base. Liberty Diner across the street has better food than the diner inside the pilot.
-
Brandys across the street has a better view than both
windsmith Thanks this. -
Not so sure about that. Too much Brandy and your vision goes to crap..

Back home for an abbreviated weekend. Have to load early, Monday morning (12:00-3:00 am) at Chanute. Hauling dust to Augusta. -
Never been in that one, but you're probably right. Every time I'm parked at that stop, my wife picks me up to go home and she's not usually to keen on stopping at the strip joints.
OldDude50 Thanks this. -
The drive by kiss was very kind of you, Rocks. I wish it could work out so we could meet up sometime. Of course, now that I have vacation and flex time, maybe I can meet you for a bit next time you're in the area, even if it's just for a cup of coffee ( or drink of choice). And thank you for the PM. I'm going to have to check out some of the items and see if I can find them around here. A couple of the items mentioned seem to fit what I'm going through. I have used Vicks to help loosen things up, but it doesn't seem to do much good. I did try the rib belt, but it didn't do anything like I thought it would. My pillow is still best for when the coughing hits. Thank you so much for your concern and time looking up the information you shared. You are a sweetheart.
Honestly Otter, I'm too tired and in too much pain to put up a fight. Besides, I think a massage, even with Vick's, would possibly bring me some much needed relaxation. Thank you for offering to sacrifice your time to care for someone you've never even met.
LandShark, the hubby didn't take me anywhere for Valentine's Day. He made supper, baked his 2nd pineapple upside down cake from scratch, and cleaned the house. We never do anything to celebrate Valentine's, anniversaries, birthday's, Christmas, etc. Having one another to share the day with is enough for both of us.
Eaton, your brother has a few too many close calls. He must definitely have a guardian angel that rides with him. I'm glad he's okay.
You certainly do get around the state of KS. I've probably seen you sometime and didn't know it was you.
I know this is going to sound bad, and I even felt bad for a nanosecond, but the driver who wished me more pain in my ribs, got his today. I had told him to go to the OC in St Louis for his PM; yesterday he told me to pay very close attention to what he was going to tell me regarding his going to the OC. He wouldn't get his restart, which would mean he couldn't do a Monday delivery, but if he was given "HIS" Tuesday load, he could get his PM done and get in his 34. The dispatcher changed everybody around so he could do the load Tuesday.
FL called me about 10 and asked if I knew the driver had called him and made an appointment here for noon today to get his PM done. I was wee wee'd off. He not only lied to me about the PM, load, and restart, but he went behind my back to get his way. Service Mgr said he wasn't busy and could get it done, but he wanted me to know what was going on. Told him I appreciated it, and asked about how long it would take. He said the driver had already called him back and wanted to know how quick it could be done. I asked the Mgr to make sure he took his sweet time and go over the tractor with a fine tooth comb. He said he had already told him it would be close to 3 or 4 when it was done. Told him that was fine.
Driver came in before he went over to tell me make sure I let him know as soon as his Tuesday load was ready, and if he wasn't back before I left, put it in the basket for the guard shack. I looked at him and said "you meant to say please and thank you, didn't you?" He didn't say anything. He tried calling 3 times and I never did answer his call. I had already sent him a message on his QC, I had 3 lines ringing, I was holding for Occ Health, 2 drivers talking to me at the same time, pop up messages for me to get some things done before I left, and 3 or 4 drivers in the front office talking. I was there by myself this afternoon and didn't have time to answer his call about if his load was ready. When he came in to pick it up, he came back and called me the "office person who doesn't answer the phone", then turned and left.
I got everything done before I left. The boss was planning to take today off, but came in this morning to help get a few things done so the dispatcher and I could have an easy Friday compared to our last 2. I don't know how anybody couldn't want him for a boss.
I don't plan to leave the house this weekend. Hubby did all the shopping today, so I'm going to stay in bed until I wake up naturally for the next 2 days. He's been so good about doing things for me so I can take it easy and try to let me give my ribs a rest. He's such a good guy.
Whew, I didn't mean to be so long winded. I'm going to sit back and relax until I'm ready for bed, which isn't going to be long.Giggles the Original, Rocks, otherhalftw and 1 other person Thank this. -
Kent oh in line to unload...
