If your delivery is live unload, I would call to either make it a drop or let them know the severity of your situation. Be persistent and don't let them hold you up for any reason. I guess calling your company would be useless based on your posts. Good luck. Be careful.

I don't mean to precipitate on your parade, but I have a feeling that a lawyer will tell you something along the lines of ''since you're a lease operator, you are an independent contractor so any legal action against Celedon would be a waste of money and time". That is why so many companies have lease or purchase options. It basically releases them from any employment regulations. The only thing they have to regulate them is the truth-in-leasing regulations from the DOT. That and my advancing years is why I got out of the O/O business. Even back then, health insurance for the O/O's was too expensive for me. Fortunately I never had anything serious go wrong in my family.
Jdzr might have the best advice on this when he said check into the St. Christopher fund. It's funded mostly by donations exclusively for drivers who have serious health issues and no or limited health insurance.jdrentzjr Thanks this. -
to make 60k you have to train and never go home, crete sux
-
It depends on your definition of never. I was home 43 days last year, which if you think about it is 3.5 days a month. Not horrible, but not great. But I didn't get into professional steering wheel holding to get home. As for the sux part...most everyone that has followed this thread knows my opinion in that area. Plus I would never train...could you imagine more snackbars out here.

Watching, "Wake up with Al" on the weather channel. Witchita sucks, but so will Lincoln. Please don't call, we are undermanned will soon come out on the QC, as they get 10" over the next 12 hours. I will take the rainy NW for now

No joy at the health dept, unless I want some birth control pills or condoms. Moving on out to the ER as the infection is getting worse...again. Will be checking into St. Christopher's fund this evening. Snack, you're right about the lease operator thing. I can't even get unemployment. And I'm told disability doesn't look good either. I feel like the whole system is playing "Gotcha" with me.

After 10 months with crete I'm happy to say goodbye! Sick of fighting just to get 2500 miles a week, longest trip this year was 788 miles! If I wanted to run pa and ohia I would live there! Good look guys and gals

Sorry it hasn't worked out for you. Sounds like my first six months here. But I can honestly say things have been much improved the last six or so. Even got a Sam's DC del originally scheduled for Saturday reset for Friday morning at 0515 (I'm about 8 miles away this afternoon). Now, if I lose my current AM, everything is subject to change quickly. Where are you off to?

I will say it again...I hate winter! It took me 5 hours from Matthews, MO to the Troy, IL peelot. And I only stopped once to beat the ice off my wipers. Sometimes down to 25 and 30 mph. I even had a good heavy load of paper too. It could have been worse. At the I55/I270-255 jct. A Ups double got stuck trying to get up and over the bridge, then an Estes double got stuck, and a Punkin truck slid his trailer crossways and got stuck in the unplowed snow trying to stop. There were places that it looked like they never even attempted to plow. Although MO-Dot has a cool kind of plow system now. A duel steering axle trailer with a hugh blade that pivots off to the side so the truck can plow one lane, and the trailer can plow the other. I've seen salt trucks dragging trailers before, but usually pulling a tank of liquid ice melt, never a remote plow.
