I have to agree with you in that one, I was deadheaded from York, PA to Eastern NC for Christmas so I could be home. I didn't even have to say anything, the load I was going to take cancelled that was going to get me near the house, so my FM called me and said go home, Merry Christmas.

Good luck with getting paid anything but straight miles. I can't tell you how many empty promises I've had with U2 pay and short haul pay. For example, not long ago I had a short hall (11 miles total), I got the FM to commit to $50 short haul pay on the QC. Three weeks later when I get home to check my settlement I discovered I was only paid for 11 miles (straight mileage pay) for 4 hours of my time on a grocery load. So, I made about $1 per hour. When I get back to my truck I inquire about the pay error, the FM says to me "well ,yeah but you had a good load before that one, so we just paid you miles." I said "WTF does the previous load have to do with the next one?" Bottom line is you don't know that you've been screwed until weeks later when you get home to view your statements, and after arguing to be paid correctly then you're waiting another 3 weeks to check again. Yeah, good luck with that, I've been burned too many times with this bottom-feeder company.

Yea. I had a 7 mile hazmat load in Tulsa. I had to wait until morning to pick it up. Then couldn't deliver until next day. But I lucked out and the guy accepted it at about 18:00. Still I lost 2 days on that 7 mile run. Only then did they dispatch me to Corning to get a load to "Wait for it" Campbells. Those three days I wasn't very happy.

My FM would always send a free form before I got the ppln message telling me that he was paying me short haul. I never had to ask. And it was always on my check

Nahhhh. That guy I had was a bonehead. Shoot, if I delivered on a friday. My next trip had better be there before 16:00. Otherwise that's where I sat all weekend. I remember doing 2 restarts in a week. More than just a couple of times too.

I do several of those short haul loads when I'm near a terminal or yard. I never gripe about them as they are usually preceded by a phone call from my FM apologizing and asking me to do it as a favor. Sometimes I get a shorthaul pay and others not. They are always followed up by something awesome though. Usually close to 4 digits Hazmat with "hurry up" timing.

Chem there are some good FM's at usa but there are some real @@@holes, all of them should be on the same page when it comes to paying drivers what they should be paid, I have no clue what the problem is but I have an idea!!! lol Going back a few statements usa will please a driver with promises, but in a few weeks or months they are right back to screwing that same driver. I do hope things will get better for you drivers now that Cliffy is out of the CEO position!! Good Luck!!
