Thanks for the advice IP but I skipped all of the breakfast happenings at LA and just got coffee across the street. And very good coffee over there too.
Plenty of parking there but everything in that place was wayyy overpriced. But the showers were worth the ten spot. Would stop there again just for a shower and a 10.

Colorado City at the Diamond Shamrock ( in the spirit of the holiday lol)
Opie's BBQ just beside here is awesome!! Elk sausage there is some of the best i've had..:biggrin_25525:

So what's the mpg on those? Do they require the high-octane/premium? You probably need to carry a gas can so you can fill them, since you can't fit a big truck under those canopies. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_25525:

    Thought I would share this...
This past week while heading east on K-150, about a mile east of the US-56/US-77 Junction, there was a grain buggy on the shoulder. I could see the driver standing on the catwalk and he was waving trying to get someone to stop. So I hit the 4-ways, and pulled to the shoulder in front of him. As I passed by him, I could see the tarp pole was not in it's hanger. He must be having a problem with his tarp, and it was a little windy, not that bad though.

When I approached him he was trying to hold down the front of the tarp. He said every time he went back to roll the tarp, it would try to blow off the trailer. He wanted me to go back and see if I could get it rolled. So I went back, grabbed the tarp pole and rolled it and secured it in the hanger. I walked back to the front and he said "Did you do that all by yourself ?" Long story shorter, he did not know how to roll the tarp tight. He was a former Swift driver. He drove 1 yr for them just to get the experience so he could go elsewhere. He's driving for a small 8 truck mom/pop outfit. They showed him once, quickly how to roll the tarp. It seems like it's real simple, except if you don't know how to use the entire tarp pole as leverage to get it snug. He didn't have it snug and the wind got under it and nearly blew it off while going down the road. I demonstrated this to him so he would know how. I also informed him that when it was real windy, to make sure you have the wind blowing from right to left over your trailer when rolling/unrolling, or else it will blow it over the side, and then it's a real pain to get it back up there.

I walked away with a real good feeling, being able to help another driver out. There were 2 other grain buggies behind me that just blew on by.

Way to go, Eaton!!! You're one of those drivers who is willing to help others with no expectations in return. You are a rare person in this world we live in today.

The same goes for many of you here. Y'all put the "PRO" in professional

OH...OK....."fessional" that fence in front of the alter for fessing up!

Always wondered.....Why do Catholics have that Port-a-Potty right there in the seating area? Boy, they really do em up fancy too....hard wood, polished, little slide window for fresh air, and that window makes it so the one next to you can hand you the toilet paper without letting it slide on the floor!:biggrin_2559:
