    Thanx,, Just remembered a spot in san diego, the little truck on the screen is driving off the road some where in mexico I think.. the screen (miles to - don't change) semi freezes, 5 miles before the international border on the 905 going east, taking Britannia blvd exit puts in back on track for where I need to go

    I have a TND 710 I purchased around a year ago. I had no problem with it till I updated it last time .I also added some POI. Its then started to freeze up after maybe 30 min use. It has got worse so it is useless.I ran the troubleshooting on it and it found no issues. I was wondering it it can be fixed? Is it still under warranty?

    Dock will still not start on my system. Win7 home premium.

    Rebooted, uninstalled with add/remove programs, deleted the USB device in device mangler, rebooted after uninstall, downloaded and installed latest version, rebooted after install. Ran Dock as administrator, clicked 'yes' on the Windows user account control security window, and that's the end of it. No splash screen, no errors, and no Dock.

    Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a perfect GPS, and probably never will be. I try to use every tool at my disposal. But recently I had to PU from a place near DT Portland, OR. If I had followed Rand's or Google's routes- both completely different- I would have had to back in from the street into the dock on the blind side. So, I followed my co's directions and did it the old fashioned way- paper notes. However, I only confirmed what the right approach was by using Google's sat view and street view- and that's all I really use Google for. I almost never use it to route me.

    Mark: Stop me if you've heard this one before...

    In the Bay Area of CA, if one travels on any part of 580, red flags go up on the 720. And that's because a relatively short section of 580 thru Oakland is banned to trucks. The irony is that 580 east of Oakland (Castro Valley) is a major truck route over to I-5. We're talking 10000 trucks using that route every day. I believe the ban is from exit 20 to 35, or from hwys 24 to 238. Pass it on, please. BTW, how do you overide it?

    I had the same problem last year. Is this a new install or has the dock worked in the past? Look for a program on your pc that changes file associations and delete it, can't remember the name of the program that caused my problem but after I deleted it the dock worked. Look for a program that claims it can open any file, somewhere in this thread I posted this problem and has the name of the program that was causing my problem but in your case it could be a different program.

    It worked before, but quit at some point. I really only need to get the mileage file off the unit for quarterly IFTA, so I'll probably figure out how to copy that off rather than fight with the dock software.

    While Mark does a great job, I'm really disappointed with RM as a company. With the TND GPS line, RM is falling far short of delivering on the promise that the Rand McNally brand carries with it.

    Case in point: I and several other TTR members have made several very public and specific complaints in this thread about where RM's routing and functionality fails, where their competition's works flawlessly. I personally have never been contacted by any RM staff to discuss these concerns or provide more information so that they can be investigated and addressed. The impression that I'm getting is that they're content to continue to profit from sales of new devices, and they're not interested in fixing any of the problems.
