I'm a solo O/O under my own authority.
The membership fee is the same whether you're one truck, or fifty. $250. But, as said before, I made back that $250 in about my first month on fuel alone. And then there's other benefits ($15 off any tire at TA/Petro, and then you get other discounts depending on the brand of tire, I got $150 off ten tires, and then $750 more because they were virgin Yokohamas). And that comes out AFTER you get the best negotiated price from TA/Petro.
Off network, I believe is about $2.50/transaction. And I'm pretty sure a cash advance off the card is $0.50/each. I don't do cash advances, and I have never fueled off network. The discounts are just too staggering. Plus, as a solo, I can pre-plan my stops a day in advance, so I can see what price is best where. No reason to ever run low and need to fuel off network.nofilter, buddyvuk and Excorcist1 Thank this. -
Also, if you call TA/Petro road service, there's no night/weekend/holiday charge, it's always their flat rate. I've yet to need it, but it helps.

Wow, that is bad.
And along that are companies that don't pass all the discount to the driver. But up-charging like that is awful.buddyvuk Thanks this. -
We were going to cancel our Comdata because of having to wire the payment and all the fees. We sent an email to the corporate office to cancel, but were promptly called by a sales rep offering to set us up for web based payment (no fee) and discounts off the cash price at Love's. A day later we get a call from another sales rep who is setting us up with discounts at TA/Petro and Pilot/Flying J. So we will see what happens and how much we are saving. I appreciate the posts about the NATSC Fleet One card and will check on that also. We currently have a Fleet One but haven't seen any discounts.

You have to join NASTC to get the discounts . I fueled today at Kings TP ,in Iowa , La. Cash pump price was $3.97 . My cost was $3.66. Not bad ! Plus , I got a Free mushroom n Swiss burger an onion rings. The burger was Better than Hardee's , and the onion rings were great ! Little Hot , like you'd expect in La. I stop there every time I can.

Called NASTC today and in order to join they require you to attend a mandatory Survival Training Class (one day only) but it's in Tennessee at their headquarters; atleast that's what the guy that handles accounts for 5 trucks or less told me. So did anyone on here attend the Class and what did you think of it? It's suppose to help save money and give you a bunch of tips on running your business more efficiently.

For a solo O/O, doesn't help much. For a small company, might work.
They had theirs scheduled at MATS last year when I joined. For the money I've saved on fuel and tires, taking the time to go was worth it.
NASTC makes no bones about the fact they're trying to sell you a service. And they have a lot of services. The best being their fuel card. They have some other things a small fleet may love as well. The big thing with the 'training course', is they're trying to help you avoid the rookie mistakes that doom small carriers. Since, they want you to stay and business so you can keep making them money. -
I joined in Dec , 2012. One truck. Nothing like that was even mentioned . My friend , who got me interested , joined in Feb. , 2012 . Nothing like that for him , either . Are you Sure you got the right # , organization ?
Might want to try again. If its still the same , PM me . I'll check on it .
