You guys were right

Some people have to learn the hard way. How much money are you out to this scam?

 

Hey even old hands call themselves wormy at the best of times.....

 

Uncle Ben, I drove a semi from the age of 16 to the age of 61 with a few years off to serve my country...and when I retired in Nov. of 2011 , I still considered myself a newbie......always realize you never ever stop learning to drive, and know in your heart that every safe mile is a gift from God...Happy Easter!

 

Look at the Job Corps, they fully financed my friends PTDI school. Was around $3500, but it was four weeks of schooling, instructionals, all fees, 120 hours behind the wheel time, fully accredited, and they have job placement. Good luck.

 

I have been driving for 5 years, last 4 as an Owner/Op ... I may not be a Green-Horn .. But am still a Rookie .. You never stop learning in this business!

 

I know I'm still a newbie, I just was trying to give JoeT and example. He was trying to get his CDL in a day.

I understand that Uncle Ben, my point exactly. We are all really rookies to one degree or another....I've seen some hands that have decades of experience make some really bad choices..... mostly because of an elitist attitude. Bad choices like tail-gating...some guys think just because they've gotten away with it a million times in the past...they think that they can react quick enough if that vehicle or God forbid that trailer they're behind has to make an emergency stop for ANYTHING. Experienced hand don't always mean intelligent hand....

 

You have a family and a good paying job it would be extremely reckless for you to leave the devil you know and start at the ground floor of one of the most thankless, unforgiving industries around. If you were single I would say go for it, but when you have a family that depends on you....... liking your job is a luxury not a necessity.
