I appreciate the posts in regard to the NASTC Fleet One Card. We were about to cancel our Comdata card because of the usage fees and lack of discounts when the Comdata sales rep had someone from RTS Carrier Services contact us. RTS set us up with dicounts at TA/Petro, Pilot, Flying J and Loves. They did this for both fuel cards. However, the best discounts are from TA/Petro and RTS sends out a daily email that shows what the dicounts are at each of the TA and Petros.

For example, I was going to fuel at TA in Greeneville, TN because of the discounts, and another driver had mentioned that on this thread, but fueled at TA in Troutville, VA and received and even better discount! What I find is using this email to strategically fuel on each trip as best I can. We have been using the discounts for only a week and have saved $110 total between three fill ups.

You can contact RTS Carrier Services at www.rtscarrierservices.com. Hope this helps some of you save on fuel.

Why did they wait till you almost cancelled to offer the discounts that they should have given you all along?

What rip off and I would have switched anyway unless they went back and gave you credit for the discounts since you been with them as a customer.

I don't know how Troutville was a better deal. Right now, for tomorrow, Greenville, TN TA is listed as 3.609 (3.439 IFTA) and Troutville VA TA is listed as 3.6463 (3.4663)

No matter what, Greenville is the best deal. Are you sure you're getting cost-plus-4 pricing, or just a flat discount off the projected pump price?

Can anyone post a link or an attachment for the discount that NASTC gives on any given day? I get a fuel discount from Schneider even though my 2 trucks aren't leased to them. I just want to see how it stacks up. It seems like NASTC might have more coverage but I want to compare prices. Also does NASTC give the same discount to a 1 truck operation as opposed to a 10 truck operation? If you hit certain usage of gallons for a month do you bump into another discount tier or something like that. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

I just got my February rebate check for FleetOne.

Can't say I wasn't overly surprised with it. I got back $26. About 4 1/2 cents per gallon in Feb in addition to all the other pump discounts I received at the time.

I figure I could do just as well paying attention to pump price and the IFTA rates for where I am running.

I use the Fuel Deck routinely on ITS to get regular routes with fuel prices. And it's been doing me well enough I can save $20-30 per fill up.

Just last week, we had a cenex coop have fuel at $3.779 while everyone else was 3.989+.

    Guess where I got fuel.

    1. NASTC gives the same discount no matter how many trucks you run.
    2. NASTC gives the same discount no matter how many gallons you purchase.
    3. NASTC does request you fuel (I think) 80% of all fueling in their network.
    4. There is no fee for in network fueling.
    5. The monthly fee is $3.75/card.
    6. The discount is essentially Cost+4 OR better (explained below).

There are three types of discounts out there under NASTC:

    TA/Petro are Cost+4 OR Better
Non-TA/Petro may have a Cost-Plus deal, but may not be +4 (or better).
Some are just a flat CPG discount (these are not indexed daily, but they are considered network stops).

    To explain cost+4 OR Better:

NASTC sets the price the day before (usually around noon ET) for all stops after midnight CT until the following midnight CT. The price can still go down during the day on the pump. In some rare circumstances, the price could drop so drastically, that the cash pump price gets close (or lower) than the NASTC locked in price. If that happens, you get "Or better" price. Which would be a CPG discount off the cash price.

For instance, when I first started, New Lisbon, IN's Hoosier Heartland (AMBEST) had the best price on my route. However, for a while, their NASTC price was pretty close to the cash price on the pump. However, it usually had an "Or Better" price of 4cpg discount. So, if NASTC has it pegged at 3.600, while the cash pump price reads 3.619, and the "Or Better" price is .04, I would get it for 3.579, even though my locked in price is 3.60. Still saving me 2.1cpg.

This happens rarely. Fuel prices have to be very volatile, and the stop must be one already operating at a very low margin to begin with.

One nice thing is, knowing if prices will rise or fall tomorrow, to determine whether to fill up or not today (or rather, how much to get today).

I included the screen shot of the page. Just the first few listed so you get an idea of how it display. The right column is the "IFTA Price", which is the cash price you'll pay MINUS the tax. So, you can easily compare prices across state lines to truly determine what the best price is going to be. And, on their site, you can see Today's prices, yesterday's prices, and tomorrow's prices. Also, they will email/text you what the average price will do tomorrow once they've indexed the prices for tomorrow (price changes are not consistent nationally, so even if the price is going down on average, a particular stop can still go up, or vice versa).

Link to rts told me nothing. Danged if I need more emails . NASTC sends an email , after you've fueled , ( next day ) which shows you the pump price , and the price you paid through them. Their price is what you pay. No rebate BS.
I started with them , first of the year. First month , Jan. , was very good. Saved $330.00. Second month , Feb. , sucked . Very volatile fuel prices where I was . My friend , who has the card also , did much better, in a different part of the country. Third month , March , almost made up for Feb. Saved almost $500.00 . Plus , I shower at T/A , Petro , and occasionally , Ambest .
Beats the heck out of Pilot/Loves.

I use the Mystic Software on NASTC's website to get the up to date per gallon fuel price before I fuel that I also put on mygauges.com for my truck that when I finish fueling at fuel stop, I put exact gallons used into mygauges.com that I transfer the exact fuel cost written on the fuel reciept before I leave the fuel stop.

I little pre-trip planning with the fuel cost on your route is real easy to do with the Mystic software and finds the best price to stop at way ahead of time.
