Englewood, NJ. Checked in for a FCFS (13:00-21:00) live load at 13:30, sent to park under a highway overpass and wait. Just got notified that I'll get a door at 18:00. Broker came through with some extra $$ after I said I was going to drop off the load if he didn't.

Now I'm just trying to resist the urge to buy a sample of every one of the 15000 cheeses in the Italian grocery store that's in front of my windshield.

 

Funny how you mention yard sale and they suddenly have more money.

 

At least the NYC rush will be over by then...

 

No amount can entice me to go into the rotten apple, used to haul oversize into that place and the Island.

I know what ya mean. I used to haul Ben and Jerrys from Ft. Wayne to the Island every week long ago. Got my fill back then

 

I slept in a moving truck for 6 straight months during my teaming... And many times on the upper bed... Never again...

 

So, I started driving at 00:30 this morning... stopped for fuel once and was hopping my dsp would give me a great load for tomorrow morning... So, after my drop, got a beautiful, brandy new mpt WM trailer with skirt and all, rushed to a FJ in Olive Branch, MS and dsp sent me load assignment for p/up tomorrow at 17:00 and will need a company trailer instead of WM trailer... Dangnabbbit!! Like Pete says... So, after all my rushing and time saved running all night, had to waste about 40 mins going back to WM CP to return their trailer, and then to a drop yard looking for a company trailer... and there was none... Now here I am, with no trailer and no more hrs left... in this wet and empty drop yard... will go on a trailer hunt tomorrow...



At least, will be able to sleep tonight... was getting very tired of driving nights only. Once in a while is ok but not every night... But will have to drive at night again tomorrow. Load will have to be in a UPS distribution center in GA at 7:00 on Friday.

Couple of y'all said stuff I just HAD to like!

Rolled in just prior to 19:00. Ended up with 11 delivery tickets. 6 of them were Hazmat so today I made WELL over the fuel.

I DID get 4 new straps at TW&F. They are complete with ratchet and not the very best looking strap I ever saw. But all I care about is if I am on the highway with DOT around I'll have good looking straps rather than the ragedy ones I'm using around the airport!
