One of my buddies got caught with a 9.6 wide doing 68 in a 70 zone in Virginia. He calls me up telling me about this. I ask him if he got a speeding ticket or his permit voided. He says that he got a speeding ticket. 13 over....ouch, that hurts real bad nowadays.
Anyways, I was always under the impression that doing something like that violates the terms of your permit, which would mean that he would get a ticket for bootlegging a load. But his permit was not voided. Which is worse...a 13 over driving award or the voided permit, plum bob, every inch over 8' 6 ticket, plus new permit fine(s)?
Speeding tickets.

He was only doing 2 over if he was 68 in a 70 mph zone.

If some people limited themselves to only talking about subjects they know, the world would be a quieter place.

Permitted loads have a 55 mph limit so the fact is the 70 zone means very little.
I'm very interested to hear what kind of fines would have been incurred if the permit was revoked.double yellow and cetanediesel Thank this. -
