Longest empty trailer move?

unloaded in Vegas, sent to Denver, then rerouted to Baton Rouge to drop the trailer. About 2000 empty miles.

 

2328 miles with an empty trailer from Yakima, Washington to Harvey, Illinois to pick up a load in the drop yard to take it 36 miles away to Elk Grove Village, Illinois

 

It looks like you live in TN so maybe they just wanted to move you back east. Also, this sort of thing happens quite a bit when freight get slow in certain areas or the companies get too many truck in a particular market.

 

Tampa Florida to Clarksville TN. Came off of home time in Clearwater and deadheaded to Clarksville for a load. Little over 800 miles.

 

Some chemical shippers pay round trip for dedicated trailers that only carry their product . Not washing the trailers avoids risk of contamination . Some chemicals I pulled would react violently to water . The domes were kept sealed and were only opened to replace faulty gaskets or for annual liner inspection . The tanks were loaded and unloaded through a 4" flange .

 

Actually I'm on Caterpillar Dedicated account and we haul empty trailers a lot. Cat expects the company to have so many empty's at each location so rather then getting a back haul out of Spokane or Arvin, California we haul the trailer back empty.. I personally don't care whether it's empty or loaded as I get paid either way..

 

Your profile show you live in Savannah, TN so its a little strange how you can run a dedicated account from Spokan to Arvin.

 

Does this say anything about a dedicated run from Spokane to Arvin ?

. To me that means dedicated loads go TO Spokane OR Arvin then deadhead back .
