Is that total revenue or "to the truck" revenue after you take your 25%?

Thanks for the firsthand response. From my (non-experienced) POV, the Sammons program gives you the opportunity to get your own truck without getting screwed when your off the road for any reason. If Sammons is able to keep you busy, you can get the truck paid off "fairly," fast. You're not penalized (or in the hole) if you're in the shop, except for the loss of revenue/income.

Staying busy here depends on how hard you want to work..
What I'm trying to say is, you need to work the load boards and keep your self updated with them.
I'm on the heavy haul side and this is how we work it.
Flats and step people can work the load boards also, but the people in Missoula will keep a look out for you as well with ld. offers.
Plus different agents will contact you also with their freight.
You can keep busy and make money or you can be lazy and go broke..
Does that make sense to you?? not trying to be a smart arse...

yep, i don't see how anyone can come on here and say they sat for days with no loads.

it's not sammons fault that you need your hand held.

my momma used to say. god helps them that help themselves.

    blade and Joetro Thank this.

Leasing is just like renting. It does not mean you own it!

First and foremost I would send the contract to a lawyer to review. Its worth it!!

Second if you are getting a used truck make sure you see all the maint records. If they refuse....deals off. PERIOD!!

If all goes well have the truck mechanically inspected by a dealer (Kenworth, Freightliner etc). This is to make sure everything is on the up and up and there are no issues that will bite you in the ### soon as the truck gets out on the road.

Also the most important part. READ YOUR LEASE AGREEMENT WHEN IT COMES TO LOADS AND GETTING PAID! Also send that to a lawyer and ask questions.

Basically its like this. Treat it like you were buying a used car from a dealer.

Personally, I would prefer to hustle loads and/or work with those who know that I like to run
