oh really? man that just busted my bubble, I have been on an owner op truck so I used it all the time, didnt know it wasnt available to the company drivers. Like I said once before, you learn something new all the time.
Hopefully I will get back on an o/o truck soon since I like having that advantage among others. I know its difficult becoming a diamond driver and there are not many out there and I was told most of the diamonds are teams. Thanks for clearing that for me squeek
On the advances like someone said you go into a hole, Swift charges a fee, comdata charges a fee, atm charges a fee etc etc, your $100 advance ends up costing you a lot more on your next check. -
Not directed at you per se, directed to all the folks headed to the academy. The know it all guys will make their presence known pretty quickly. Just be careful about putting all your trust in them.
-
Yeah, we had plenty at my last school as well. People who say because they looked it up they know it front and back. They're rather easy to spot for me honestly. But good advice to look out for them. I must relate their presence to that of a young child trying to make music with pots and pants next to you.

you will always find a "know it all" who actually doesnt know much, I found its best to seek out the quiet ones for information, they tend to be more correct and honest. I hate the ones who will come around and try to turn you away and give you false hope or vise versa. Its all in how you make of things, you in particular might do great or might fail miserably hopefully the first.
Where in CA are you from Jackal? im assuming you will be based out of the Lathrop terminal. -
Probably, out in Chico.
-
Yeah you should be based out of Lathrop, my recruiter originally gave me the option of Fontana or Lathrop but Lathrop is a couple more hours than Fontana to my home so I took the obvious.
-
Makes sense to choose the closer of the 2. I'll probably have the option of Lathrop or Sparks, just a guess though. Just have hope that I won't have much downtime waiting on a truck after training.
-
There's a terminal in Willows CA about 30 miles from Chico.

I have been waiting for a couple days for my truck, the driver development told me to call today for updates, I finally got through to her a hour ago and she said she was assigning me a driver leader and they would contact me tomorrow but there shouldnt be much more wait on a truck, we will see how that works. Originally I wasnt supposed to road test until today anyway. I am at least enjoying a couple days home with my wife and kids in the meantime and will go out for 3-4 weeks before doing home time again. I just hope I dont end up having to wait until like monday for my truck, im not making money sitting around.
