I predict several disasters will end this experiment. Underpaid newb drivers being responsible for essential flatbed securement, lol. I haul flatbed now and I know what it's worth if you want it done right, USA can't afford it

in theory the driver is always responsible for load securement but with a dry van a lot of times the load is sealed when you pick it up. With a flatbed the load is 100% your responsibility. What USA needs to get into if they want to grow the business (all bleak outlook for expansion of this company aside) is pulling refer loads.

There is plenty of money to be made in flatbed. The freight is there. I told one of the higher ups that they could pick a certain amount of drivers that you know will take the job seriously and send them to training. Then run a pilot to see if it will work and expand from there

Hey, if the pay was set up right id run flat bed in the summer months, couldn't be any worse than roehl running it..lol but no reefer for me. Already wait long enough to get unloaded. All id see is long waits at the grocery warehouses with reefer.Thomas0810 Thanks this.

I would pull flatbed, but not for cpm, it would be for percentage only

If I was younger yes. But not now. I would just end up falling off the trailer. Everyone would start laughing at me. I would just get mad and go ahead and break my other leg.

The refer loads are usually worth the wait mile wise but who knows what length of haul USA would be after though.
