Where is the map version found?

 

Main screen,preferences,,general,about,os version in bottom right.

my 12 volt power cord has become tenuous at best at cigarette plug end. It is so bad I can no longer use my 720 as it loses connection constantly. Is it warrantied?

Ok Mark, thinking about buying a 510 since they are going for a decent price finally. But, I keep reading that they lock or freeze up often. Has rm fixed this. What is the cause and what did RM do?

 

Yes. Call 877-446-4863 for a replacement cord.

 

The 510 is a solid purchase especially at the reduced price for those remaining on shelves. Locking or freezing always has to do with the power cord. After plugging it into the side, take a 360 degree wrap around the neck of the mount to reduce strain on the socket in a shaking truck. It'll be fine.

The only other caveat that I can think of is the Lifetime Maps. There may or may not be a lifetime maps coupon with it depending on the seller and that is a $90 consideration.

 

Not much of a solution and it really should not be a problem on new devices that haven't had a chance to wear. Beside a bad connection should be covered by the battery power for at least a little while.

 

Today, my 710 froze up.
I reset it.
It then displayed a horizontal red bar that said "starting wince"....or something like that.
Never seen that before.
It stayed like that for a long time.
I reset it again.
Now it will not turn on at all.

Did it die for good?
