It seems every industry lies in order to make a buck.Anymore no matter where you go its all about money.Back in 2007 when things have changed was about when the economy started going sour or maybe a little bit sooner then that. Its bad all over anymore. You asked if there was a terminal in your earier in one of your other post,Werner does have a terminal located in Lakeland,Florida.Don't know how far that is from you. They are a starter company but again don't know if they have a company sponsored schooling.

Also TMC was sponsoring training for a while in my area, you might try some of the better companies that take trainees from private schools and see if they currently offered presponsered training in your area. As much as I despise job websites generally speaking, you might try monster jobs as mentioned above, they seem to get a lot of listings for truck driving jobs and you can sometimes find a gem among them. Also there are websites that are soley dedicated to truck driving jobs, just google for them.

LOL!!! Yeah, my last job paid pretty well but had impossible quotas, grumpy sales managers, and dreadfully long days (each minute seemed like an hour)!!! Day-in-day-out all I did was dial a phone number, ask for the proper decision maker (usually the owner) and get told by the gatekeeper (who was ALWAYS lying) that he was "not available". ALL day...every day. It was horrible!!! I actually look forward to being alone on the road instead of having to deal with all that rejection and abuse!!! Some truckers on this forum think that they are treated like dirt? Try being a salesman. WE are THE most hated, disrespected and abused people in the WORLD!!! After 15 years of sales, I suspect that trucking will be a cakewalk in comparison. Of course I could be mistaken. Time will tell.

The Trucking Jobs form is very much a work in progress. We have a few good companies that hire recent graduates and experienced drivers, but so far no one that hires drivers who haven't obtained a CDL.

Signing up reputable trucking companies has been slow, but we're making progress. In June, we were only able to match ~1/3rd of drivers with at least one company. In July, we were able to match ~80% of drivers with at least one company. Lots of room for improvement, it'll be several months before this application tool is something I'm proud of.

Yeah, that's true. That's why I am seriously ready to pull he trigger on a trucking career. I know it's a lifestyle rather than career, but I think I am up for it.

Well, it's good to hear that my lack of responses isn't due to my admittedly horrible recent work history. Do you happen to know of a good site where I can apply to many jobs with one application? I would LOVE to have recruiters calling ME as opposed to me having to fill out countless applications before even speaking with a recruiter. (it's not that I'm lazy, but I am very busy, and hope to get things rolling ASAP). Thank you :)

Been doing some research. The closest trucking terminal I've found anywhere NEAR my town so far is Swift in Ocala FL. That's about 1 1/2 hours from my house. Well, at least they sent me a reply after I filled out their online application :)

Edit your profile so people know where you live.

I used to live in Okeechobee. During that time as a company driver I drove for US Xpress. Do t know if they hire out of Florida anymore. Check company websites for their hiring areas.

FFE in Miami and Winter Haven.

Since you haven't been to CDL school & you want a company that provides training, it's more efficient to just apply to those companies. The other companies can't really do anything for you because they don't provide CDL training.

CLICK HERE for a list of trucking companies that hire new drivers.

JBS Carriers is not on this list, but does provide CDL training.
