It depends on outside temperature and humidity and the time of day you turn your reefer on. Usually about 1.5 hrs to 2.0 hrs in ideal conditions

empty or loaded. One time I was loaded and they didn't cool the product down to the temp I was to set my refer at and it took 24 hrs to cool. And it was to be cooled to -13F.

It's taking 6 or 7 hrs for the trailer and unit I'm pulling to cool down to 10°, I'm empty and started about 11:00 am. Just wondering if it's the age of my unit.

Do new units cool real quickly?
-
Going to take longer to cool an empty trailer

I'd say there is something wrong, it shouldn't take that long in my experience.

What kind of a unit do you have? -
6 to 7 hours to cool? Get that thing looked at...

What year? The insulation may be junk by now. I used to pull 15 year old equipment and it would cool down to 10* on a 100* day in a few hours while making tons of noise and shaking the heck out of the truck.
When was the last time the unit had a tune up?
