I was thinking about starting a nationwide network of independent refrigerated carrier companies, sort of like a union.
It could possibly have a major effect on the produce, food, and frozen food hauling industry.
A specific hauling network, union, or association coming together to make a change in refrigerated freight rates.
Like, when you call for a load and you state that you're part of this network and give a special number, they know that they can trust you,
you're reliable and they have to give you an outstanding rate, better than what they'd give the average Joe. What do you guys think?
I'm open to all comments......... This is not only for my company but YOURS too!

kind of like OOIDA but just for the refer sector?
-
EXACTLY .....but actually hold more weight than OOIDA and more importantly, the memberships go into a private account to be used only for advancement of the members of the network and each member holds/owns a share in the association for the dues that they pay, so at the end of the day, if we were to have a conference and decide to sell the association to some bigger corporate company to expand, we'd all come out on top. What do you think about that?
-
Oh boy......
-
I'm not a reefer hand by any means, but I'd like to kno how your going to get shippers or brokers to give members an outstanding rate when they can just get an average joe to haul it cheap. We all kno that quality of service means jack #### when the almighty dollar is involved.

Call tql im.sure they will be onboard.
-
Tql is one of DON The Trucker's favorite smartphone apps!!!
-
I hate tql as a rule but .....made a check call on.a load last weekend and the operator sounded hot almost worth the cheap rate
-
i think its a good possible with time and lots of thinking......... although i dont think i personally want to pull reefer again, but to each his own. for some reason i seem to like a tank sloshing around.. ooida started with just a few guys who were fed up with bs and it could be done again in a different form.
-
as far as the better rates im not sure about the reefer game. i have found that with a tank a small guy can get good rates with excellent service to 1 or 2 dedicated customers.
maybe with enough members and a new brokerage for them using a seniority based system of sorts....... and more thinking
