    Hey.. I an a new driver.. I had some experience in the past pulling flatbed.. but been off the road since 2010.. So.. back to Newbie Status...
    However.. I just got hired on with a small company and going to be trained by an O/O with over 25 years of driving..

    We will be pulling reefer... So, I have been browsing and reading through the threads and posts here to gain insight and l on pulling reefer...

    I am actually pretty excited.. even though pulling reefer will be different than flatbed and I don't really know what to expect..

    Expect long waits loading and unloading. With reefers, you actually have to back it in to the dock. You dont worry about docking a flatbed. Deal with the tough guy shipper and receivers. Some tight docks to back into makes you want to pull forward just to do it again after you spent some time trying to get it the first time. Getting used to sleeping through the reefer noise.
    The plus side is after its all said and done, you shut two doors and get on just to do it all over again. No strapping loads, No tarping. Welcome to the wonderful world of refrigerated transportation.

    Lmao. I run my reefer on continuous so no one will park next to me. But if your desperate, the noise shouldnt be of concern.

    It is true.. pulling flatbed we didn't have the tight docks to back up to.. got practice backing here and there.. but I do realize it will be different...

    We transported bee hives and no body wanted to park near us when we had them on board.. LOL..

    I am pretty good at being able to sleep.. even with noise.. so I am hoping that I won't find it too difficult to sleep with the. Reefer noise.. but.. won't know till I get out there..

    Id park next to a reefer any day. I rather wake up to noise of a reefer then the smell of a cattle or chicken hauler. Never seen a bee hauler yet.

    I have. And I will not park next to one or walk near it. I will walk across the street to get away from it. I am so deathly afraid of any type of bug it's not even funny.

    The modern whisper reefers actually provide a nice gentle hum to fall asleep to. Don't mind them at all. The old ThermoKings were a different story.
