I agree. Things have improved under Mr. Simone. I would still like to see a profit as opposed to just losing less and we need to see that in the 4th quarter because 1st quarters are historically bad, especially for the trucking industry. In other words, if not the next quarter then it could very possibly be next July before we have a press release with positive earnings and I don't know if we can keep a potential takeover at bay that long. I'm also afraid that all this does is put more money in the executives pockets if Knight is still interested in a takeover.
3rd Qtr news is starting to trickle in. Lookin Good!

$10.74 sure beats the $9.00 K night was offering. Still waiting for 12.
-
Could be knight still buying the shares on the open market helping the price. Also the drastic improvement if genuine is either evidence to how BAD Cliff was or how GOOD John Simone is. It can't be both and honestly I think Cliff was just really that bad!!!

Night can only buy so many shares before the poison pill policy kicks in.

stock went up another dollar something today closed at 11 and some change

Yep, I've talked to a few other stock owners and a couple have sold and now wish they had waited. But most are holding on for bigger gains yet. I'm with them.
I see great things in the future if we can keep the swifties away.Thomas0810 Thanks this. -
Or Knight could just decide they want USA so bad that they continue to buy shares at market price no matter how high the price goes. The poison pill doesn't forbid them from buying shares just makes it less attractive. They already own 11%. I guess we will see how high they are willing to go. At the new price of 11 dollars a share they would have to buy roughly another 46 mil worth of shares. It would take a few months to do this. If USA keeps increasing the good numbers the price will go up for Knight. If they disappoint on earnings and peddle backwards investors will fear the USA of old is back.

Night could keep buying shares but Im pretty sure that if there was a merger the shareholders would then be allowed to buy all of Nights shares at a discounted price. I really cant see this looking very attractive to them.

If Knight wanted to sell. As a shareholder Knight has the same rights as other shareholders. At least until they reach a 20% holding. The beef USA has is that 9 dollars a share wasn't a fair price. So far that is proving to be true. Lets say Knight decided they were going to do whatever it takes. I would put the stock at 14 to 15 a share by the time Knight is able to gain 51% on the open market. Thats quite a bit more than 9 dollars. Could that be the fair value shareholders are looking for?

My prediction though is this is not going to happen. Knight will make their profit and sell their shares. Then USAK stock will see a market correction with the influx of the float released back onto the market. Just like Celadon did.
