My father and I are looking to start running teams after the first of the year. Right now we are considering Schneiders Tanker division pretty strongly but we are open to other companies. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Don't have direct experience but I have heard Schneider treats their teams pretty well on the freight side. Don't know if the tanker side has long enough hauls for teams. If you can get along well with your dad, teams are a good way to make money in this business. Rough life but you can make money

Tanker is great; quick unload/load & rolling again.

If you have experience go to landstar and dispatch yourselves as owner operators. Schneiders tank division pays crap. refuse to work for anything but %%%% and you will do well as a team.

Well I drove 9 months overseas pulling a low boy hauling heavy equipment but nobody really counts that and I have been driving state side since July and my dad is gonna be done with truck driving school in December. So we don't really have a lot of experience

No offense consider NOT doing the father son team deal. Been there done that. It ended with the F word flying and fisticuffs. Also ended up with us being in different trucks and we still don't talk much when we see each other. I talk to him on the phone more than I talk to him when were around each other.

You are both screwed and will have to work for peanuts for a year or two.

That's Bull. You don't have to work for peanuts! Many companies will hire and pay newbs a good wage. You gotta hunt for those jobs. They aren't going to fall on your doorstep.
