I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I have a couple of questions. My daughter gave me a 2000 watt inverter last year for Christmas that I haven't installed yet. I'm net sure where to mount it. My truck is a International 9400. Do I mount it on the floor, on a wall or where? Also the battery box is on the drivers side directly below the sleeper. If the cables are ran straight up into the sleeper, would the up and down motion of the air ride cab cause the cables to flex to much? Any ideas on installing this will be greatly appreciated.

Silver dollar,
I had one in my old International to run the microwave,fridge,ect..
I used 4 gauge from the battery box through the bunk floor with a 150 amp fuse at the battery end.
Just leave a little extra to compensate for the cab movement....never had a problem.
Zip ties to keep it off the frame or from rubbing anything.
I mounted mine on it's side under the front of the bunk. Mine had dual fans in it so as long as it gets air it will be fine.silver dollar Thanks this. -
This is from another thread of what I posted about an inverter problem. Read number 1, 3, 5 and 6 about how to install one properly. I've done a bunch of inverter installs on a lot of different types of vehicles and know what I'm doing.

I've seen some inverter installs that make me want to take out life insurance on the owners. It's nothing to fool around with, it can not only burn up your truck, it CAN KILL YOU!
That being said I would bet the shop usually installs 750 watt inverters, and they have wire sized for that inverter. I used 00 (double ott0 for about 60" run from battery to inverted. Here's a chart that will help with sizing wire

You can always go bigger, but never smaller. Bigger is also harder to work with, install connectors etc.silver dollar Thanks this. -
