I jad to unload at a safeway dc in sacromento and there was a paper that stated that drivers can unload their own freight..so i asked about it and they said that i would have to wait till 11 in the morning, (8 hours later) to do ot...which i refused to accept seeing as how i was on time for my appt. and needed to get rolling to pick up my next load. Well 10 hrs later i was finally done (mainly because i got up and went inside and finished off loading the last 5 out of 9 pallets myself) and i pulled away from the dock but not before a lumper walked out and demanded that i pay him $350 because i took his job away from him. I politely said that i was told that i could offload it myself t this time so heres a comcheck with the original amount requested of $120 and he said no i want $350 and i said you will take this or none at all makes no difference to me cuz i can leave but you cant...so he took his money and i left...never been there since

Sounds like a few drivers need to pool some dough and go hire Vinnie and his boys to do a little Chicago-style "negotiating" with these people who think its fun and games jerking around poor truckers.

AWG (Associate Warehouse Grocers) San Antonio and OKC OK. The first time they rejected my load of end of season watermelons. That's their right. But their "Fleecer's" reloaded my trailer wrong and in the process destroyed 6 pallets and tearing the boxes the watermelons were in. Then they had to gaul to try and charge me $60 for "Fleecer" fee's. Months later in OKC I checked in a half hour early for my 9pm appointment. I checked in then was told to go park at the TA because there wasn't and space left in the yard. I did as asked. Two hours later I checked in again only to be told I had not checked in at all. And I would have to start the process all over again. It took 13 hours to drop 13 skids and the "Fleecer's" charged me $156. That made me late for my last two drops. I will say that after sending an email to a Honcho I found on their web site. That she did reply with and apology and said she was forwarding my email to the director of the shipping department. My boss and I both agree we will not deliver their freight any longer.

Now that's a super trucker! If you really did all that, I'm real glad for ya. I have no respect for Walmart. I have a few stories of my own in various types of situations for delivering to either the DC, one of their job sites with a flatbed load of steel and when I used to deliver flowers & plants in a reefer. Walmart has no respect for tuckers or any of their vendors that supply them. If I had a product that they wanted, I would just lead them on while they drew up their contract until we got to the dotted line, and then I'd tell them I changed my mind - I wouldn't sell them anything.
