Ok. Need a little help. Truck has a DD 15. Over past 3 days it has thrown 2 active fault codes that happen when outside temps are cool (not sure if it is related). Codes are eng 2 001 spn004193 cool in temp 04 and eng 2 001 spn004193 cool in temp 10. Have taken truck to shop twice and the codes are gone after truck has sat waiting to go in shop. Shops claim they cannot find codes so nothing to fix. Anyone know what these codes are for? Have searched and can not find them. Thanks

That's odd - I thought the codes stayed unless erased.
-
So did I. Have some mechanical background so the shops saying they can't find history of the fault doesn't sit well. Unless the ecm is failing.....
-
Can they not tell you what the codes mean / indicate as you have them noted .
-
They didn't. I wish they would have so I have a better idea as to what might be going on. If it throws codes again will immediately pull into shop so shop can see codes while active. Don't like driving on potential engine problems though.

Fault code 4193 is for your coolant in temp sensor not plausible. Take it to a shop and have them monitor the coolant inlet temp, coolant outlet temp and oil temp. Any of those sensors not reading correctly can cause that code to come up. They should all be similar. The code will not set until the engine reaches 149 degrees.
The coolant in and oil temp sensors are under the oil/coolant module, and the coolant outlet temp is on the front right side of the engine on the coolant collector. -
Thanks for the info on that code.
