So how 'bout it... Would you rather deal with the hot summer temps like in Texas or the brutal Winters such as North Dakota? Me personally, in regards to oil field delivery, I'd rather deal with the heat than the cold. Though very hot, it's not as humid in Texas as other states and you can at least feel your hands when loading, unloading yer tank. lol

    Thoughts?

    I'd rather sweat than shiver.

Heat over cold any day of the week.

I can can always take clothes off and still function. I get cold to where I can't feel my hands and fingers and I can't do anything. One of the things I DONT miss about being in aviation was being out in the ramp in the dead of winter.

I've worked in both. When I find myself working in extreme heat I'd give anything to be in the cold. When I work in the extreme cold I find myself wishing I could be in a warmer climate. If it came down to the two extremes (no in-between) I guess I'd take the cold as long as it isn't a wet or damp cold. I'm originally from the "extreme" northeast and can function in the cold, can always add more clothes, etc. I don't do well in extreme heat. Working strenuously in extreme heat makes me nauseous. It's why I drive fuel tanker here in Florida. More brain work than physical and I rarely become overheated.

What they said. Believe me, it can get VERY humid along the Gulf when I use to work in the Eagle Ford down by Corpus Christi. No chains required and no state income tax. After the company I worked for layed most of us off I moved back home to Minnesota to be closer to family. Now I have to get use to the cold all over again, but I like the change of seasons up here. The fall colors and actually having a white Christmas. I do miss working in Texas. I might move back down their in another year or two. Made good money down their. Happy Thanksgiving!

The cold. You can always put on another layer or work harder to warm up.

I'd rather be in heat. If man was meant to be in snow he would have size 40 feet and look like Bigfoot! :)

The heat any day of the year. I can function in the cold and don't mind driving in it but could never live in it. Living in Texas my whole life, when I was running OTR I used to love getting my loads home in the Winter from the NE back to Texas. Pretty mild down here and running the AC at any time during the winter is not unheard of. It get's cold....24 degrees last night but back into the 60's this weekend and 70's next week. So yes, gimme the warm weather please.
