This is great news, Dave. I'm glad he is home and doing okay (or as well as can be expected). I hope he stays inside from now on, or has somebody to go out with him.
'olhand, I love the stories you tell us about your days. I know it isn't funny from where you're sitting, but it does keep me entertained for a while. I can't believe how little attention some people pay to details. You're such a sweetheart to have not woke him up.'olhand, NDBADLANDS and FloTheWaitress Thank this. -
olhand is even more cranky then me
and he is a sweetheart............sighteddy_bear6506, FloTheWaitress and 'olhand Thank this. -
Glad I kin entertain ya TB--but tell ya lil secret--I didn't wake em up as much for my benefit--cause by the time HE woke up then woke up 5 other people trying to get to the bottom of the issue while I sat on my hands waitin for a 4am executive decision......i was already unloaded...all be it not where I needed to be and MANAGED to salvage most of the day
Now hidin in a very quiet spot--kinda in Ft. Worth waitin on our other truck to get here--so We can strip both of these ######up loads and put em back together--so both of us Will actually have the freight we WERE sposed to have in the First Place!
Oh and I didn't bother to consult Mr. All Grown up on this either---LMAOHammer166, teddy_bear6506 and FloTheWaitress Thank this. -
Day off number 1 of 2 today for me. Slept in until 7am! That's actually a big sleep in for me these days considering I'm up a 4am most mornings! I went and washed my truck ( we do it ourselves up here ) then did my laundry and got my fire retardant coveralls dry cleaned, they are Nomex3A and it's apparently better to dry clean them than to wash them. Plus the amount of oil and dirt in them would ruin a clothes washer anyway!!
i then went to the grocery store and got the fixings for a pot roast that is bubbling away in the slow cooker right now, smelling darn good too I might add! I also treated myself to half dozen Christmas donuts from Tim Hortons (they are Canada's version of Dunkin donuts). Then I relaxed and watched a movie.
Tommorow I will finish cleaning the inside of my truck, it gets very dirty doing this type of work, and make sure everything is tidy and good to go for another weeks work.Rocks Thanks this. -
ironpony, HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, FloTheWaitress and 2 others Thank this.

Now Pete, you know I think you're a sweetheart, too.
Neither of you would be as loveable if you weren't cranky.'olhand, FloTheWaitress and Cranky Yankee Thank this. -
Thank you Otter... I decided to go with trailer and all tomorrow night. It seems, and I hope those streets don't have much traffic. I'll be cautious... I believe the school across the street will be closed and I will try to turn truck around inside their parking lot if possible. If not, I will just park on the street and wait till next morning. Hopefully there will be no fog... Receiver will have to unload me on the street and one way or another I will get out of there with no damage.
Now I am at a huge truck stop in AZ.teddy_bear6506 Thanks this. -
It sure FELT like I did more than 161 logged miles yesterday....
I ran to and fro all over Houston.
6 delivery tickets done. -
I got fuel. And now I wait.
