Well any smart owner/op who is leasing his truck/s will want to know what the company is dispatching his driver/s with. You will be dispatched by the company but usually those loads are pre-approved by the truck owner.

I think with so little experience you'd be better off having the truck dispatched for you. You can't possibly know what the best loads are yet. For example, you may be tempted to take a high dollar load to New England, only to find when you get there that there's no good freight, and you may have to deadhead all the way to New Jersey or even Pa, and still not get a good rate.
Also, an experienced owner who is also a driver would know places that you don't want to go, because they screw the driver around. For instance, I never book a load that goes to a C&S warehouse, ever. But then again, I never go to grocery warehouses to begin with. It's not worth it.
But, you should let the owner know where you prefer to run, and the types of loads you'd like to haul. If he's a smart owner, he'll try to give you what you want if he can, just to make your life a little easier. Just remember that it's not always possible to get what you want.
It's hard enough to make money out here. I know I would want a driver that likes what he's doing, so he does a good job for me, and in the end, for himself.Cw5110 Thanks this. -
