OMG! The Russians are here, and they are after our sacred American Pepsi!
Rural Tennessee is not very friendly to foreigners, not even White foreigners. Poor guy was lucky he didn't get shot; speaking in that crazy foreign language.
Warning to all about a certain TN truckstop

Moosc, sorry to say but you sound like a typical American supremacist. You've got all the traits. Anyone who wears a symbol from another country (I was wearing a scarf with Ukrainian written on it and the national symbol), speaks a different language, practices a different religion, has different political views than mainstream Americans, or is proud of their culture and country, is condemned as a terrorist and a threat to society. You think your language, culture, and way of life is far superior to everyone else on the planet. You can't stand anything different. And then you wonder why the rest of us around the world don't particularly like or trust America and its true intentions. Sorry, but Americans have become a group who thinks they are far better than everyone else, and we should all just bow to you and unconditionally forget our origins and cultures and blindly follow your lead. Don't take this, any of you, as a direct insult or slight to any of you, I'm just telling you what I've seen among Americans in various places.

Yep that's me I'm proud to be an American. And every time I see a foreigner step out of his truck wearing sandals and walking into a truckstop washing there feet in the sink. I do look and I think could he be be up to something. When I hear a different tongue I do a double take and ask my self what really is in that bag. I'm aware of my surroundings. And yes if person is poking around in my coolers not once but twice I would be suspicious. Especially in those hours. He'd remind of burglar casing the joint.

I am proud to be Ukrainian! Proud of my history, language, culture, and everything that has made us who we are today. We have a long history, dating back to around 600, when the capital city of Kiev was founded. Much, much longer history than the European history of America. You shouldn't judge other cultures and languages if you don't want yours judged in return. I have nothing against the American people or their culture or way of life. All I ask is that you be respectful of my culture and country, and not immediately think I'm bad or a terrorist.

Everyone has national pride. Usually for the one they live in. But that's what's great about the USA: you have the right to exhibit national pride for any nation you want to. What you haven't figured about rights yet is: You also have the right not to exercise those rights all the time.
Don't use disability to justify odd behavior. Either do it and accept the consequences or check yourself. Face it, you were acting suspicious and they reacted to that. Get over it.moosc, skateboardman, WorldofTransportation and 1 other person Thank this. -
What ticks me off is people who come to America, become naturalized U.S. citizens, just to make money here. They don't like America, it's culture, or it's people. They still speak from a foreign point of view, even though they have formally became a citizen. They fly their native flag in their front yard and display it on their car. They try to speak as little English as possible.
When you choose to be American, you are American. My family ancestry is mostly English and German. My German ancesters stopped speaking German when they came over, because they wanted to be Americans. My English ancestors sure as heck stopped giving praise to the English royal family, because they wanted freedom from that way of life in England. If they wanted to talk down America and praise their native country, I'm sure they would have returned to their native country. It would be hypocritical to not.camaro68 Thanks this. -
The German language was spoken by millions of immigrants until suppressed during WW1. In 1900 there were 613 German newspapers in the US. Lots of Italian flags flown in little Italy. St Patty's day is coming, bet there will be one or two Irish flags flying.
Me, I'm Italian and American Indian. Odd years we protest Columbus Day, even years we celebrate it!WorldofTransportation and cabwrecker Thank this. -
