I didn't have control only because of the ice on the road and that wouldn't of happened if they would of taught me how to drive on that in the first place.

England wants a 24 second following distance on ice and snow. That's too much time and that could be dangerous as well. He stopped pretty quick.

I normally try to stay away from the wise cracks but if they need to teach you to drive on ice you have no business being in a truck. As a matter of fact no driving anything with wheels.

No that's minimum, too much following distance is not more dangerous. Good luck, start posting on driver boards.

Nobody here can answer that question. Just get on the phone and call around.

That's fascinating... in its vagueness. What is the dangerousness of 24 seconds following distance? If there is no one on the road to my front for miles, should I pull over and wait for someone to tailgate, in the interest of safety?

Heck 24 seconds even sounds to close when driving on ice snow or even wet rds.. Me at times with the lds. I haul, I even have more of a gap. Try stopping 140,000 in 24 seconds. not going to happen.

I hear stuff like the 24 second rule and it makes me want to laugh and cry. Do these mega carrier clowns pull out the rule book to see what to do based on the conditions?

Some people were never intended to drive a truck. Its so sad that is the mega recruiters main hiring pool.
