I hate these old trailers with the lever that I've found takes an extra person to jiggle it while u maneuver the truck.

How can I slide these by myself? There has got to be a trick. No one to grab to help this time. Vice grips and those borats won't work with the levers.

Know the feeling all too well, lol.Well try some silicone spray.Maybe park the trailer against a curb and use the curb for leverage.Ive done that and if all that fails you may have to take it to the TA or Petro and charge the shop to do it,cost$25.00.But you said its the lever maybe kick the heck out of it.Next time youre at the terminal and get one of those trls check to make sure the tandems and lever moves before taking it.

Hammer the pins in, or hammer the lever out, or just hammer it until it works

    Cetane+ Thanks this.

    Rock it a bit...
    If that doesn't help.
Get a Hammer and give each pin a good whack or two or three.....
Usually you will find one or two of them Stuck....

Once they all move a bit when you hit them the lever SHOULD come up..

I pulled those for years, they used to sell a spring rig at truck stops to help with the whole pulling the handle at the right time. The trick I used was to back into the trailer a bit and then get out and look, the trick is to get the pins in the middle of the holes rather than at the front or rear. It can take a few times of rocking the truck to get it where you can pull the handle but with a little practice you can get hit it the first time most of the time.

Good Lord...I've banged and rocked. For sure I've woke the dead. Try again in the morning. Thanks. Have not been successful by myself and just prayed weight distribution was ok.

But don't think that will work for what the OP is talking about

Get a couple short and stout bungie cords. Put them under the lever and hook on crossmembers, rock the trailer and the bungies will lift the lever.
