Depend what you call decent. They say about 45000 a year. From friend that is maximum hours with lots of experience. Depending on your experience and the contract that location is working under will determine your pay. Call and ask what they pay then take about 25% off that.

    road_runner and Shaggy Thank this.

Quite a few mega carriers that run a local fleet on the side. If you want to run local and this is the only carrier you can find, then go for it. Otherwise I would suggest getting onboard with someone that ONLY runs local/LTL freight or routes. They have a much better pay structure and benefits. Good luck on your search mate!

I'd take it if you want to be home. Then move on when you get more experience.

If you are in Atlanta then you should be able to talk to some drivers. I don't know about much of their pay structure but I think it's fair if you get a good dispatcher. They do run good equipment and I believe their benefits are fairly decent. They are mostly an intermodal company now which basically translates into a local gig. They also have DCS and other special operations but for the most part if you work for them, then you are a local driver.

Applied for this Local about 2 years back. Seemed like a decent gig. Until the recruiter found out that I never did OTR and never returned my numerous calls wtf. Forget which state he was calling from or I would've pounded on the office door to see what the heck was up.

Thanks JB hunt for not returning my calls. You did me a huge favor:biggrin_2552:

Around here the local route the recruiter was talking about seemed stupid easy with decent pay. your experience may vary. Good luck OP.

PS- Present day, Looking back would of been a terrible job.

One thing i do know about them is You need to be able to drive 62 mph in the center lane and not move for anyone coming up behind you and cluster f### traffic as much as possible
