how come you cant sleep? co-driver drive too rough? maybe look into the cab shocks maybe they need replaced..i am hesitant to recommend otc sleep aid but that might be an option for some...otherwise you need to work with them and come to an agreeable solution..stick it out man that's what i would do, good luck

You must have missed the part where I said to make monthly payments. Thinking back, yeah I guess that's wrong. On many levels. He should just stick it out until he fulfills his obligation or kills himself, mine and your family because he fell asleep at the wheel. Give the driver credit. He knows he can't sleep when the truck is moving. He's looking for options which is what I gave him.

I worked at a natural food store as my previous job, don't have my CDL yet but getting it soon.

Anyway, there are some natural and natural-ish supplements you can take to help you sleep. Check out Melatonin, Niacin, and some of the relaxation herbs like ashwagandha, valerian root, or chamomile.

Melatonin is naturally produced in the brain in order to signal to itself that it is time to go to sleep, although the supplement form will be synthesized. It still has the same effect on your body though. Very little melatonin is needed to help you sleep.

Niacin is vitamin B3 by another name. Niacin does have a flushing effect that will make you feel like you have a pretty bad sunburn for an hour or two the first time you take it. Your body adapts to it if you take it regularly. Niacin has a bonus effect of helping clean your blood and assisting white blood cells in killing invaders. This is my preferred sleep aid. For a while I was taking one or two (can't remember mgs) every night before laying down to go to bed. About 20 mins later it would start to kick in and I would drift off right as I started to feel the flush. The flush is desirable and very mild when your body is used to it and you have your dosage figured out.

Ashwagandha is good for leveling out your adrenal activity, so it would be good for nervousness, if that what is keeping you awake. Some people claim it has a stimulant effect on them, so you would have to try it and see. I personally have had a lot of experience with ashwagandha during a scary time when a prescription didn't agree with me. It is powerful and effective if your body needs it. This stuff basically saved my life.

Valerian is a natural herbal sedative. I don't care for it much, but maybe you would like it. It can also be found in the "Marley's Mellow Mood" iced tea drinks with Bob Marley on the front.

Chamomile is popular in night time teas and might have a very mild calming effect.

If you are taking any prescriptions, be sure to ask a doctor as supplements can interact with prescription drugs in strange and potentially dangerous ways. Ask a doctor anyway, can't hurt.

Hopefully that helps you. You can get that stuff online, in health food stores, some of it in walmart, etc. Ashwagandha will be the hardest to find probably. They can be a little pricey - anywhere from $5 to $20 for a bottle of any one of those - but if it saves your job then I say it's worth it. Also, you should probably, or maybe not, check and see if CRST has any policy regarding those types of things. Good luck man. Sleep well.

If you deem the situation dangerous, the decision is a no brainer. F CRST if they won't work with you, your life is worth more and jobs are a dime a dozen.

Side note: I notice pay is going up around the industry, last 2 companies I worked for have called me back bragging about new pay .40cpm(which us still far below what I get now but may be good for others) and I hear ads on radio saying the same. Trend?

Life nowadays is much easier if you simply lower your expectations.

I suppose, but the current rate of decay is not desirable. I would rather stick to the values my parents taught me.

I guess that means to forget responsibility, accountability, and integrity. Just ignore any contract you signed because you dont like it anymore, or it is too difficult for you. Is that what you call lowering your expectations? If that is the case, then what has the people in this country come to. Contracts was originally a handshake between responsible individuals. And the agreement was honored. Today it is a signed piece of paper. What next, ignor it all?
