My company truck only runs 65 and that's fine till I run into a truck doin 64 1/2 and it takes forever just to get around them and it holds up traffic, seen a add the other day for something called a PassPro I believe, it's suppose to interrupt the speed restriction on the truck for a minute with a button push to make passing a slightly slower truck faster and it said it was undetectable by a company as long as you unplug it from the port before service, anyone herd of this or even used it and if so how did it work for you? Thanks
Anyone know about a "PassPro"

Would still register on an ECM report.
Back off and set cruise at 63 for 15 minutes.
Pick nose, eat candy, yakk on CB. Relax.
Most reputable companies have a dim view of speed altering devices.Redline91 Thanks this. -
That's exactly what I needed to know, and yes they do lol that's why I was askin didn't wanna get fired over something stupid like that

If you are in a state where the truck speed limit is 65 and you are running 65 those of us that are running faster don't really have a legit complaint coming. If you are going up hill and not running 65 that is a different case. Please get out of the way. If you are running 65 in a state where the truck limit is higher please get out of the way. There are a lot of trucks out there that run a lot faster than 65. You can't help the fact that you have a 65 mph truck but you sure can control which lane it is in. Thank you for your courtesy. That is about as courteous as I can be on the subject.Last edited: Jun 6, 2014
Mooose and 900,000-tons-of-steel Thank this. -
I'm aware there are much faster trucks and I try to be courteous to the matter but on that point the faster trucks should also show a little courtesy also

You have 2 options to bybass that speed limiter, buy your own truck or get another job. Really, it's not your truck, what gives you the right to tamper with it? 1/2 MPH slower adds minutes to a run, you'd really risk losing a job for a few minutes per day?

No I would not risk losing my job over it that's why I asked if it really was undetactable and I already got the answere I needed from the first guy

I JUST DID IN MY POST

Ya know, those ECM's have some interesting little things. There are driver reward features, that when the parameters are set, and the driver meets the parameters, it allows the driver to go to a higher speed, which is also one of the parameters. like if the average mpg is above, say, 4 mpg, it can allow at the driver to go up to 10 mph over the speed limiter. Meanwhile the speed limiter still shows that truck speed limiter set at 65 or whatever. The DDEC IV and DDEC V had this, it is hard to believe that it is not part of the present ECM features. For the short time one would be passing a truck, one could easily argue that they were going down hill and the speed went up if the company is looking at such things.
