Your accessories or "flare"(as some call it) should include: chain wallet, key ring with no less than 25 keys hooked to your belt loop, bandana and a 300 ounce jug of soda.

OP, set your sights higher than Werner unless we have accurately described you.

I didn't mention the fingerless gloves cause I thought that was more for the experienced driver 4-6 months. Did see a guy get his chained wallet hung on door as he got out of his truck and fell. Pretty comical!

Not sure if your company has a dress code.

On the road. Most of us revert to comfortable clothing.

Tight-fitting fancy clothing tends to get painfully uncomfortable after several hours in the driver's seat.

Jeans and t-shirts were my default driving outfits mostly.

I put on company shirt in terminals & customers.

I like heavy leather work boots.

    Leather jacket in winter.

These words are copyrighted, but I'm the copyright holder; anyone who wants to can use them. For those of you who don't know, "out there" is what we used to call life on the road.

"Out there, you wear what you want. There's no need to dress up, just being dressed is good enough, but that's up to you. I'm sure some people truck in their underwear and some in less than that. Many drivers favor cowboy clothes--boots, duster, big hat. You see steel-tipped shoes and long-sleeve work shirts tucked tight into cheap jeans. I liked moccasins, because they're comfortable, and Levis, because they fit. I wore t-shirts and polo shirts--I didn't tuck them in--and displayed my trucker's tan--a darkened left arm below the sleeve--with pride."

A few trucking companies make drivers wear uniforms, don't think Werner is one of them.

Thanks everybody! I'm actually accustomed to the Speedo and tie already so I should do fine!

I always wanted to do a suit with a bow tie for a day. Just for fun. I kept forgetting to grab it every time I was home.
